Rating: Summary: Whose Child... a very gripping true story Review: "Whose Child," written by Kasey Hamner strikes a chord in my heart. I was not adopted but know several people who have been. This book helped me to understand some of their strengths and frailties. "Whose Child" was easy to read and without technical mumbo jumbo. In fact, I couldn't put it down and was able to read it in only one day. "Whose Child" should be read by anyone who knows someone who has been adopted or was adopted themselves. Kasey Hamner writes a real and interesting story with a self healing conclusion that any person could apply in their own lives. Thank you Kasey.
Rating: Summary: Undescribable Identification Review: As a "child of many" I related on so many levels. I saw my birthmother and adoptive mothers in her b/mom and a/mom and found a wonderful sense of healing. I am a "child of many" and I am proud and happy to be alive. Thank you for sharing your life with us so beatifully and candidly. You have truly made a difference.
Rating: Summary: A Must-Read Review: Both the book and the courage it took for Kasey Hamner to write this book is incredible. No matter your position in the adoption triad you will benefit from her life story. Wheter you can relate to all of her pain and struggles or just some of them, you will better understand what it means to be an adoptee. I highly recommend this book to everyone involved in adoption!
Rating: Summary: Riveting! A "must read" for anyone touched by adoption Review: Could not put it down! Read it cover to cover in two sittings. Kasey Hamner has "gone where no one has gone before" with this refreshingly honest autobiographical account of her life as an adoptee from relinquishment to reunion and beyond. Her candor and highly readable writing style are impressive, and she manages to touch all the issues that we adoptees seem to share in common.Although it is hard to disaggregate issues that stem from being adopted vs. issues that result from growing up in a dysfunctional family, Hamner continually reminds us of the core emotional experiences of the genealogically bewildered adoptee: depression; anxiety; fear; anger; guilt; and ubiquitous problems with relationships, intimacy, and trust. I highly recommend this book to anyone touched by adoption, as well as to teachers, therapists, and pediatricians.

Rating: Summary: The repsonse to my book Whose Child? has been phenomenal! Review: Hello my fellow book reader! I am so pleased that you found yourself browsing my little section of the web world on amazon. I hope you will enjoy this book, simply in the spirit that it was written---as a vehicle to help me and others grow in the healing of adoption and reunion. This book was a labor of love. As a result of writing this book and I have been truly happier then ever. I would love to have your feedback (see survey in the back of the book) after you are finished reading it. The feedback I have received thus far has been overwhelming. It is so clear to me, as an adult adoptee in the post-reunion processs, that adoption is the hottest topic around and needs to be addressed by all who are touched by adoption. This topic is all the rage here in america as well as abroad. Please enjoy the book and I look forward to hearing from you.
Rating: Summary: WHAT A FABULOUS BOOK FOR ALL AGES! Review: I cannot believe how much I enjoyed this book. I am 19 years old and I am about to relinquish the child I am carrying. I am so glad that I read this book to help me in making my most difficult decision. I could not put the book down and found it both joyful and maddeing. Her adoptive parents should be ashamed of themselves. Kasey is a great gal who has come through so much. Now she is a psychologist who helps others. What a great ending as well. I will recommend this book to EVERYONE. I can't wait to read her next book "Adoption Forum".
Rating: Summary: As a male adoptee, I could not put this book down!! Review: I kept hearing that people were unable to put this book down--most of these people were women. As a male adoptee I was fascinated by Kasey's story. Her writing carries you along and you don't want the book to end. It is hard for me to get into a book. A book has to grab a hold of me and carry me through to the finish otherwise I will not read it. I was hooked from the start. Her joy in life is well earned and I am so happy to hear her spirit shine through in this sometimes tragic, always thoughtful story. I for one am hooked on Kasey Hamner!!!
