Summary: An exciting story that is upliftng and encouraging
Review: I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. This account of the Iraq war puts a very different slant on the news stories we hear every day. The personal stories of the Marines Chaplain Cash encountered were quite compelling, and the mighty presence of the Lord amongst them was truly a blessing to read. I bought this book as a Father's Day gift for my husband, but decided to read it myself as it looked so interesting. I'd highly recommend this book for everyone.

Summary: Great read on a deployment--inspiring
Review: I myself an a Marine, I work as an explosive dog handler. My mother sent me this book when I first came out on deployment to Africa for 6 months. It was a great book I read before going to bed-- I actually looked forward to reading it each night. It tells of the reality of the Iraqi War and shows these Marines as humans with a spiritual side. I think everyone regardless of an affiliation with the military should read this to get a better understanding of what goes on when you're in a foreign country and placed in harms way.

Summary: Testimony of God's grace
Review: I read this book in one night, thoroughly captivated by the descriptions of yes, war, but mostly the stories of our Marines' hearts and how they were changed during the course of Operation Iraqi Freedom. You travel the road with them, through fear and courage and amazement when they see God's hand protecting them in battle. This puts a new perspective on the war and definitely encourages the reader in trusting God and knowing how to pray for our military. Cash seems to be respected by all in 1/5...including me now that I've read his book.

Summary: Great Read!
Review: I usually don't read much non-fiction,especially war books, but I am so glad that I read this book. I've recommended it to my family & friends & I'm going to read it again myself. It opened my eyes to the realities of this war & has shown me how to better pray for those serving our country. My faith was strengthened as a result of this book. Thank you Lt. Cash for writing this book.

Summary: Up lifting
Review: LT. Carey H Cash is a Chaplain serving with the U S Marines, "A Table in the Presence" is his story of Iraqi Freedom as he saw it, heard it, and lived it.
If you are in a quandary over the rightness of this war, reading this true narrative will give you unexpected insight into the experiences of our fighting men. Wounded men marveled that they were alive, and thanked God. One soldier after another tells their story of Miracles that they saw and experienced. You will share in the joy of the troops as they watch parents being united with their children ages 5 to 15 as they free them from the prison where they were held. Children, pale and emancipated, left the prison at the age of 16 when they were conscripted into Saddam's army. As hundreds of them fled the jail, they hugged the soldiers. Page after page, LT. Cash draws word pictures that give you a new perspective on war. War is not the place most people will think to look for GOD, but after reading this true tale you will know different. I am recommending "A Table in the Presence" to all of my friends.

Summary: A Moving Account of Faith, Courage and Hope
Review: Lt. Cash's account of his unit's faith, hope and courage offers inspiration to all. The stories of the brave men he served with in Iraq encourages those of us at home to offer praise and thanks to our Lord for their sacrafice. Thank You Lt.Cash for sharing the story of the First Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment. May God Bless you and those who have fought and those who continue to fight on our behalf.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book is an awesome account of God's power even in a place like Iraq. Since my husband was there with Chaplain Cash, it was neat to be able to read about what he and his boys went through over there. God bless you Chaplain Cash!

Summary: Hand of Providence
Review: This is a very encouraging book. If God intervenes in the chaos of war, then He can do so in the comparatively minor challenges we civilians face.

In addition, Lt. Cash's humble and engaging way of describing his job will do more to recruit military chaplains than a thousand recruitment posters!

Summary: Unbelievably True!
Review: This is simply an amazing collection of experience during combat in the Iraq war. It is worthy of sitting in either the Religious or Military History sections of any library or book store. You just have to read the stories for yourself, that seem like Hollywood fiction until you remember that they are in fact true, as told straight from the people who saw and experienced the blessing that they continually prayed for during the war.
