Rating: Summary: Farcical and ridiculous and certainly no tribute to hardship Review: I had to toss the book halfway through and turn on the Jerry Springer show for some real dysfunctional excitement. Stern's (or his ghost writer's attempt) to portray some sort of adversity this man had to encounter in his life is ridiculous. It strokes a man who plays to the masses not in the form of his altitudenous insight, but rather to forms of dysfunction, perversion and an obtrusion into clear and sexually uncluttered thinking. I find this man to be interesting and somewhat likable, but his expertise appears to be coupled in radio and film, not the literary arena he thinks is so deserving of his presence. Howard, if you need to write, take a stab at something that changes thinking, not about how many times a day you have to change your soiled underwear.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Fastastic and please more Lesbian Stories Review: This is fantastic. Although I've only ever seen the film and never heard him on radio (because I live in the Uk). This was a brilliant book, I'm totally hooked and am now looking at ways to see if I can hear him over the web. This is a must even if you've never heard him, but please Howard when you write the next one, I want more lesbian stories.
Rating: Summary: Simply the funniest book ever Review: I have been a Howard Stern Fan for about 10 years. Not a morning goes by that I don't listen. When the book came out i was PSYCHED!! It really gives insight into the real Howard Stern. The man behind the mic is as interesting as the one on the air. Either you love him or you hate him, there is rarely anything in between. I have read the book countless times and reccomend it to all. Especially if you HATE him. Buy it, read it and laugh your a** off.
Rating: Summary: Great Book, Great Story. Yes he is crazy yet "read it" Review: The old expression goes. If you dont like him you will listen, watch or read it anyway so you could know what he will say next. Howard is a crazy yet true to life guy who will thrill you with his life story. You pitty him, you love him, you laugh at and with him, you want to cry and you want to die. Why not read it or at least see the movie. You will appriciate him as an every day guy who just had the guts to do what we all wanted to do yet wouldnt. READ IT TODAY!
Rating: Summary: It was a very revealing look at America's King Of All Media. Review: I liked the brutal honesty of Stern towards people, but I felt perhaps he doesn't have to use language and treat people the way he does in the book. I don't understand why he attacks all these different groups. How would he feel if someone attacked his family verbally? It was okay, but I support Stern's right to free speech. After all, there are things that are just as bad or worse than him that are accesible, so why not let him broadcast? If you don't like what he's saying, change the station or turn it off. I think his father's verbal abuse influenced his behaviour and his choice of profession. I noticed he didn't say that much about his sister in comparison to his parents. He said a lot about his wife Allison, who looks better now than she did in college. I hope people realize (his fans and his critics) that his show is pure entertainment and should be treated as such. That means don't take what he says or does too seriously, because he is probably not serious in most cases.
Rating: Summary: Those who would find no humor in this ought move to Iran Review: I thank H. Allen Smith, Hunter Thompson, Tom Wolfe, Terry Southern, and Joseph Heller for they have, on occasion, forced laughter from my gut merely by my reading their words. And now I thank Howard Stern for doing the same to me. As an author it is my suspicion that Mr. Stern is a "one shot wonder", but then so was Ms. Mitchell. But "what shots"! Please do not read this "ouvre" too far from a bathroom (or ocean, lake, pool...); otherwise you will disgrace yourself.
Rating: Summary: Stern is just like me-not afraid to say what he feels Review: A true book about the way that one man feels about everything-sex, his wife, his kids, and his radio show. Have seen his movie many times, and I wish he could see the way that people admire him. He is a public figure in my eyes. Allison, don't worry he loves you, on the radio he is a different person, the person that everyone admires. Howard, you RULE!!! I am a true fan, and you are hysterical!
Rating: Summary: We loved it! Howard is the master! Review: Yucky and Poopey Boy are together because of Howard...this book and new movie are cool!
Rating: Summary: A race to put Howard Stern Down!! Review: Coming from Australia, we don't get to hear much of Howard Stern, And aren't WE missing out!!! My wife and I had a race to finish this book, the only trouble was it was never put down. Howard can make ya laugh and make ya wince in disgust, but you can never leave the book alone. One of the best books we have both read together! And now on to another book from Amazon.com Miss America.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: This is book is as awesome as his radio show and movie.
HOWARD RULES
