Summary: The Greatest Novel Ever Written
Review: This book is a most honorable work. Howard took his life and shared it with the world. From a young man living at home with his parents. Howard worked around everything that stood in his way. He got his wife back and still has a great family. Today Howard and the staff contiue to make us laugh. For all of you Stern haters well "fart on you! "

Summary: Must Read
Review: The movie is great - but the book blows it away. I was crying with laughter chapter after chapter. It's very funny stuff - I'm French but especially liked his chapter ripping on the French and Jerry Lewis. Get this it you won't be sorry.

Summary: Funny!
Review: You either love Howard or hate him. Me, I love him. I have been listening since the 7th grade back in the WNBC days. This book is so funny. Not just the crude humour and the sex stuff, but the growing up on Long Island, the stories, Robin, Jackie, Fred and so on. This is simply a great book and one that will make you laugh out loud. If you want to read a great autobiography, and a funny one. Read this.

Summary: It'll keep you laughing.
Review: This book was one of the funniest I've ever read. I actually laughed out loud which I seldom do when reading. Howards b***** comments on celebrities were absolutely hilarious. It's a quick read and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for something fun to read.

Summary: The Ghost's Hand Is Evident
Review: The reader from NYC below is absolutely right. This book was secretly written by John Simon, the film critic for the National Review. Strangely, Simon was happy to forgo the credit, refusing all royalties and acclaim; quite a sacrifice, when you consider that it might have won him a whole new audience. In fact, Simon did it gratis as a favor to Stern, an old friend. The two of them first met in the seventies, when Stern was engaged to the daughter of NR publisher William Buckley Jr., and they quickly found much in common. Stern is a world-class collector of Czech china figurines, and Simon, who is a Czech, has hosted his entourage in Prague a few times, as Stern's listeners will recall. Anyway, Simon's inimitable hand is apparent: it explains all the trenchant film reviews in the book, such as the analysis of Spike Lee's work, as well as the references to such stars and celebrities as Pamela Anderson Lee and Joan Rivers. It's true that there may be more of Simon's personality on display here than Stern's, but Stern fans won't notice too much: both men share the same dry wit, warmth of style, and a natural affinity for the fairer sex which, if not unique to Prague, is distinctly "Old World."

Summary: HOWARD STERN IS A FRAUD!
Review: Howard Stern is a fraud, a fake and a phoney. He's everything that he loves to accuse others of being. The real author of Private Parts is John Simons. During all the months and months of endless plugs for Private Parts, Stern never once mentioned John Simons. When Private Parts went on to become a bestselling book, Stern still failed to let anyone know the truth about who really wrote Private Parts. I'm one of Stern's fans who was duped into buying the book under the mistaken belief that it was written by Stern. Now I feel like a fool. Like other fans, I listened to Stern complain about how much he sacrificed, how hard he worked, and how he missed enjoying the summertime with his family while he toiled nights and weekends writing Private Parts. Finally the truth comes out. Stern didn't write Private Parts -- John Simon did. Well, Stern won't have me to kick around anymore. From now on I'm going to listen to Don Imus. At least Imus writes his own books. As for Stern, he's obviously the Milli Vanilli of authors -- A fraud!

By the way, I wonder who really wrote Miss America. As for John Simons, I bet he had to drag Stern to court to get any credit for his work.

Summary: Tasteless book
Review: Stern has a garbage mouth on the radio, and this book pretty much follows that routine with no taste at all. It's about as worthless as the paper it's printed on.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A recommended entertaining autobiography.
Review: This is one of the best autobiographies I've ever read. His family history and comments on different celebrities is also very interesting to read about. A book you will want to read more than once.
