Rating: Summary: Hysterically funny reading!! Review: I can't tell you what people thought of me reading this book on the beach and laughing out loud!! Notaro is a great storyteller, and it is obvious to me that her tales are all true (especially since many of them have actually happened to me!). All in all, a quick, funny read.
Rating: Summary: Shamelessly Funny! Review: David Sedaris has met his match with Laurie Notaro. I don't think I've laughed so much in months....(ok, years). Each 'story' was funnier than the previous. Please don't class this as a 'girl's guide'....Us guys are equally entertained. Please hurry up, laurie, and write us another hilarious series of anectodes....:-)
Rating: Summary: Hilarious! Review: The funniest book I've read in years! I finished it in two days - I just couldn't put it down. Her mother sounds just like mine (help us, God)and I'm sure we've had some of the same ex-boyfriends! I really related to her. She's today's "every woman". She finds the humor in everything. I kept thinking "Yes! That happened to me, too!" A must read!
Rating: Summary: Read this book Review: This is one funny book. I particularly treasure the funny ones because there are just not that many around. I would suggest NOT eating and reading this book at the same time, I did and nearly choked. This one is laugh out loud and slap your knee and then wipe the tears out of your eyes. In reading over these reviews, the two criticisms seem to be a lot of typos and somebody got mad about, um...was it bathroom stuff? I don't care. I only spotted one typo, and I look for them, but maybe I was laughing too hard to notice. Okay, if you get offended by drinking, or a chapter about public restrooms, or naked ladies in the lockerroom at the gym or buying bras or going to the gynecologist you will not like this book. Otherwise, you are going to hoot, howl and heehaw. Laurie Notaro has a real gift. She is a humor columnist for the Arizona Republic. I am going to see if I can read more of her columns online.
Rating: Summary: Read This Book.... Review: ...if you have a sense of humor, a healthy respect for the left-of-center, and especially if you are, ever were, or have ever known and loved an Idiot Girl! Not sure? Read a couple of pages, and you'll soon find out. I haven't laughed out loud at a book in a long time. This one's a keeper. I'd warn anyone bothered by references to alcohol, cigarettes and certain bodily functions to stay away, but I think you should read it too!
Rating: Summary: HYSTERICAL! Review: This book is one of the funniest I've ever read. I was laughing out loud during parts, unable to contain it! I would highly recommend this book to all of us who weren't smart enough to be true geeks, but far from the in-crowd losers. We are the ones who will rule the world! This is truly a must-read, and it goes quickly, so you can pass it on to your best friends.
Rating: Summary: adorably witty. Review: she has my sense of humor. who couldnt love their own kind?
Rating: Summary: Laugh Out Loud!! Review: I actually did laugh out loud more than once. This girl I can relate to. I found myself saying "Oh My God!!! That happened to me!" This is a must read. If you want to laugh, read this book.
Rating: Summary: As they would say on ebay feedlback, "Highly Recommended" Review: I thought this book, which appears to be a collection of columns, is really amusing for those of us women who have had similar life experiences to the author -- and unless you were living under a rock you certainly can relate to and find humour in her writings. I laughed out loud at times, and the humour is so well written that it is still funny when re-read for the second or third time. Perhaps because the book is so hysterical in the beginning chapters, it seems a little uneven later on, which is why I gave it four stars, not five.
Rating: Summary: funny haha Review: This is a really great and funny book if it's established that the reader has a sense of humor. If you're PC, uptight, or Republican, PLEASE just skip this book. You don't deserve it, and you certainly won't get it. But for everyone else who ever felt a little unsure of themselves, wanted really badly to find something funny in a humiliating experience, or felt that life caters to the beautiful, this book is required reading. Read it, relate to it, learn from it. Dorks will eventually rule the earth. This is proof.
