Summary: Princess Sultana Stories - Big Giant Winner
Review: The life of Princess Sultana - all the three books by Jean P. Sassoon on this woman's life - have been such that I found it difficult to put them down. Sultana is so very frank about her weaknesses and shortcomings (especially her hatred of her brother) and yet so extremely courageous in defying to the best of her ability the limits put on her by her country and living behind the veil while in her country - yet outside of her country she can live freely - showing her face to the world - These books have been absolutely fasinating to learn about the mistreatment, rapes of young non-royals, and have shown me just how extremely fortunate we as American women are. What a courageous - brave woman to jepordize her position to have Jean Sasson write her story. - I hope one more book will be written to see Sultant'a perspective of the USA and Saudia Arabia after 9/11/01.

Summary: Sometimes the truth hurts! (GREAT BOOK THOUGH)
Review: I want to first start out by saying that I have family that lived in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah and for this, all that I have read I believe to be true. My aunt has told me some horrific stories of how they treated her over there, so I can only imagine how they treat other women who are there. This book really sheds light onto what goes on in other countries such as Saudi Arabia. I have shed many tears over this book and others that I have read by Ms. Sasson. To all of you out there that say that this is a false book, and can't be true, all I can say is...WAKE UP! This stuff is happening out there, and actually "Sultana" was very lucky to be married to guy like Kareem, who treated her with SOME respect (even though I would not put up with his crap in the U.S.) If you are looking for a good book to read, this is it!

Summary: Truly Inspirational
Review: If your thinking of purchasing this book, go ahead and get the whole set. All three books are page turners. Jean Sasson writes amazingly with her ability to put you at the time and place with words. A definite thrill ride for human emotions. Also, thanks to Princess Sultana for her bravery in sharing these intimate secrets in hopes of changing life for women all over the world.

Summary: Glad to be living in the United States
Review: I read the first book in this series called Princess. I immediately found the second book, the Princess Sultana's Daughters, and simply could not put it down. As with the first book, I was simply horrified that such sanctioned brutality happens today. There is such shame in the absolute barbarity of this culture, not only by the men but also by the mothers of helpless daughters. We take so much for granted in this country. Once you read this book, you will appreciate the freedom we have, as women, in the United States. I highly recommend this book. Don't start it before bed because you won't want to put it down to sleep!

Summary: Powerful Insight into Islamic Society
Review: I have read and enjoyed all 3 of the novels about Sultana and her family. Jean Sasson portrays a woman imprisoned by the men in her life and country, but equally imprisoned by her own passions. Because she is wealthy, Sultana has everything, and yet she has nothing. As a Moslem woman living in a primitive culture, Sultana must constantly worry that as she ages and loses her beauty, so may she also lose the attentions of her husband to a younger and fairer woman. As the wife of a Lutheran pastor and a Christian, her story makes me feel like a queen and the most blessed woman on earth.

These books reveal much about Islam, that it is a religion of law which can bring out the worst in its followers. The character of Amani, Sultana's daughter, proves that when one commits whole-heartedly to the Moslem faith, the result is complete self-righteousness and produces a person who is harsh, judgmental and condemning.

I appreciate her honesty. Perhaps Sultana will one day see that any change in her countrymen must begin with a change in the hearts and minds of the Saudi Arabian people, and that no amount of Koranic law can train a man to be a kind, loving and faithful husband. Only the knowledge that sin is forgiven through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross has the power to change the human heart and change people's lives.

These books should be read by every Christian as they serve as a warning against one of the greatest false religions the world has ever known. The life of Sultana and her family prove that no amount of keeping laws can calm the sin-sick soul. Only when we trust that Jesus paid the full penalty for sin and that because of His sacrifice, we are accepted by God, can we truly know peace and have lives with meaning and purpose. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to free us from enslavement to sinful passions and behaviors. Christ died for all, including those who believe and practice the Moslem faith.

Excellent reading and a real eye opener. I look for more books about Sultana and her family in the future, and I will continue to pray for her and all the Moslem people in the world.

Summary: A REACTION TO THE STATESQUE
Review: its..a good book..it tells alot about whats going on behind..the sences..however, there is alot of exageration..in it. the princess didnt distiguish..between..how women r treated between diffenrt places of saudi arabia. for ppl in te west..alhijaz area..have differnt ways..in dealing with those isuues..i mean..the relations between men and women..r more respectful. also, in Njad the young generation has changed alot..and what was happenening to the princess..was not general. c prince abdullah fo rexample. hes openminded young prince. the thing i really didnt like in the book is that cause of the stories happenend in her life, the princess got a negative rection from religion..and traditions.
