Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Dude Review: If you can't judge a book by it's cover, then this is the exception. Better title: Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse.Nothing different here from other rock clones, except the year 2002 brings us true raunch. The only surprising thing about this book is how ANYONE from front to back ends up without a fatal STD.Steaing clothes from a homeless chick- real class, dudes. Without a doubt, self hate exudes from the literary authors(The Crud),and every individual, most especially, the women-associated with these narcisstic juvenile delinquents. Licking the flames of hair spray & fire is good practice. There is a fire that will burn forever.....
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Crue does it again. Review: What can I say.. this book was excellent. I grew up listening to the Crue and was always fascinated by them. Now I finally get to read about their tales of women, drugs, booze and rock & roll. If you are a Crue fan or any hard rock fan, you will not be disappointed if you read this book.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: ....AND THEY MADE IT OUT ALIVE Review: This book is a riot. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the language and descriptiveness. If you are not easily offended by decadence and debauchery, this book is for you. It will also give you a better understanding about the band members and some of what they hae went thru. I used to think Mick was just a freak that never spoke or moved--I found out why. This book is truly in their own words, if you want to hear it staright from the horses mouth this is the book for you.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Entertaining Read but TOO LONG!!!!!!!! Review: 430 Pages!! Don't get me wrong, I love the Crue but this book was just way too long. Especially some of the background knowledge of Nikki and Vince's childhoods...SKIP. The name of the book is DIRT and that's exactly what I wanted to read. All about the porn stars, wild tours, drug addictions, and run-ins with the law over the life of the band. The Dirt does deliver a lot of that stuff. Especially some keen insight into the LEE/LOCKLEAR and LEE/ANDERSON marriages. I grew up listening to the Crue and love most of their music but these guys are seriously messed up. Nikki Sixx is one of the most depraved human beings(if you can call him that!) I have ever read about. It is truly a miracle that he is still alive today. The book is a good read which delves deep into the differing perspectives of each band member. Mick comes off abrupt and guarded, Tommy comes off like the mimbo that he is, Nikki comes off like a psycho, and Vince, well Vince is just the @sshole. Anyway, Crue fans won't be disappointed with the level of debauchery in this book that far exceeds anything I could have imagined was going on in these guys lives. Limited Recommendation to hardcore fans only.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: You can't put it down Review: This is the most exciting book I ever read. I normally read a 200 page book in a few weeks. I read this 430 page book in 3 days. Once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down. The Dirt will never wash off me again.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Sex, Drugs & Rock n' Roll Review: This book was such an honest and eye opening look into the lives of one of the biggest metal rock bands. It was a real page turner and I didn't want to put it down. Neil Strauss has done an amazing job of putting it all together and the boys did an excellent job of telling the tale of their crazy lives, which to them seemed normal. It's all you ever wanted to know (and some stuff you can't even imagine) about the life of bad boy rockers and their triumphs and downfalls. I would totally recommend this book to anyone, whether a Crue fan or not, because I enjoyed it soooooo much! I really hope that these boys put out another one about their lives after the book was published, and that Neil Strauss will hopefully write for more bands! Excellent buy! It'll blow you away!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: 20 Years of Decadence Review: A true testimony to life in the 80s as a rock band living in Los Angeles. From unlikely start to the roach infested Motley House to lavish million dollar mansions and all the nuts and bolts in between. Being a huge Motley Crue fan and a musician myself I picked up this book to see what decadent really meant. Your worst nightmares will come true with every single turn of the page in this 400 + recount of lives that have no business walking the earth still. The stories litter your mind with fantasies of and questions as to how they were even able to preform every night. Nikki, sorry man, get over the past, we all have parts of life we would rather not delve back into let alone a great deal of typed pages. Vince, if you do not get choked up with the story about Skylar then you have no heart beating inside you. Mick the outspoken of the group has endured a much worse life than the evils of drugs can bring you. Tommy, well not much to say here. Tommy is his own man and if that isn't obvious reading his account then I do not know what is. Additional stories written by those close to the band add a nice outside view of the band. If you find that you are not a fan of Motley Crue, but find that you are a fan of music, then this is a must read. It will distort your mind of celebrity excess and will fuel your emotions to what you may have always wanted to experience in life.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: ...the real dirt on Motley Crue... Review: If you can stomach the real story of a heavy metal band in the '80s - this book is for you. Nothing is held back - the band tells it like it is (was). The writing, which is written in first person by each member of the band, gives the reader a true sense of the personality behind the big hair and make-up. LOVED IT - but it is not for everyone!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wash all you want! "The Dirt" remains the same. Review: These guy's have had the best and the worst of times. And who better to tell us so than The Crue themselves, If you have ever wondered what is like to be a rock star, you have got to read this. From $200 an hour hookers, to Nikki and Tommy's kid's being in the same class at school, this book say's it all atleast I hope that was all, I can't imagine there being anymore than this. Then again we are talking about The Crue, so I feel certain there will "The Dirt 2"! LONG LIVE MOTLEY
