Summary: These guys are my hero's!
Review: I so wish that I would have said goodbye to sports and hello to music when I was growing up. Maybe then I could have been in a band like Motley Crue!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Dude! Enough said.
Review: I was floored. I was never a Motley Crue fan and didn't even buy the book originally. I started reading it at a friends house while I was on vacation and couldn't put it down. Then bought it myself because it's just that good! It's a no holds barred account of there roller coaster lives and is put together incredibly well with differing opinions and recollections of events from one chapter to the next. Everyone gets a chance to be heard. And what they have to say will blow your mind. Everyone knows the old tiered mantra "Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll" but it's one thing to just say that and a completely other thing to not only live it but give explicit details of it to all of us regular folk. Absolutly amazing, a must read!

Summary: A very entertaining read!
Review: I grew up listening to the Crue in high school, but always wanted to know what happened to them after the "big hair band" phenomenon ended. This book answered many of my questions of what, where, when and why. Mick Mars made me laugh, Tommy and Nikki stunned me, and Vince Neil's account of his daughter's death made me sob. Even if you don't like the band, it's a fantastic account of one of the most loved/hated rock bands from that era. I can't wait for Part 2!!!!!!!

Summary: More than you ever wanted to know about The Crue!
Review: When I first heard of this book being published, I HAD to get my hands on it! Let me just say that it is definitely WORTH EVERY PENNY! I couldn't put it down and finished it in less than a weekend. I've always been a huge fan of the Crue, since attending my first concert in July 1987 (the Girls Girls Girls tour). This book has everything you could possibly want (or not want) to know about these guys. I used to think Mick was a standoffish mean "old guy" until I read his words explaining his disease. I used to think Vince's only reason for living was getting laid, until I read the chapter about Skylar. I used to think that Nikki was a loser junkie with no feelings until I read about him finding his long-lost sister Lisa...and her dying before he had a chance to meet her. I used to think Tommy was a wife-beating immature freak until I read what really went down between him and Pamela (fueled by stir-fry for dinner). This book really opened my eyes to the story behind the Crue. What made them rise to the top of the punk-dominated music scene of the early 80s. What has kept them on top of the heavy-metal music scene ever since. They have truly proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with and you have to admire their brutal honesty throughout the whole book. They don't even come close to the usual "put-me-on-a-pedestal-and-bow-because-I-am-a-Rock-God" mentality. Throughout the book they call themselves "losers" and "junkies" and show how their emotions got the best of them in many situations, proving they are actually human and not untouchable machines. I gained a complete new respect for these four guys and after reading this book, you're missing something if you don't feel the same way.

Summary: The Party Lives On!
Review: Covers everything from when they were living in a roach infested apartment in LA to their current status! Includes funny stories about Pamela Anderson . . .

Summary: Like Tommy would say: "Dude! This book is awesome!"
Review: I read this book in 2 days, and believe me it's a big book, and damn, I was blown away! I've been a Crue fan for a couple of years now, and let's face it we've all seen the Behind The Music Special, well this book covers about 80% more not told in the show. From Vince's loss, to Nikki's addictions and stupidity, to Tommy being Tommy (the ultimate "Dude"), to Mick's secret, this book is great.

Just like Aerosmith's Walk This Way (another great autobiography) this is highly recommended, but unlike Walk This Way, The Dirt is jam packed with photos, articles, and other stuff to crude to mention. I think the parts I enjoyed the most about the book were Mick's, because he's always been the secretive guy in the group, and you'd never expect all the things he's been through.

So when you're through reading this review, do yourself a favor and grab yourself a copy. You won't regret it.

Summary: This dirt truly does not wash off!
Review: Maybe I'm biased, considering I think Motley Crue is the best hard rock band that ever existed, but this is the best biography I've ever feasted my eyes upon. Nikki's and Mick's stories are the ones that entertained me the most. Vince's story on Skylar ripped me up, that a very sad chapter. Great story, and NOT what you might expect.

Summary: I would have given the book 5 stars but....
Review: I got a little tired of reading about Nikki wallowing in self pity. I actually wanted to read more from Tommy and Mick. The two of them are hysterically funny (even though I don't think they intended to be). They need to make a movie about this book and star in it themselves *hint*.

The book is very entertaining and will hook you right from the start. Even if you are not a fan of their music, the intimate details they divulge about their lives makes you want to be a fly on their wall just to see if is humanly possible to do what they did and still be alive today >=)

Summary: Outrageous!
Review: I was never a big Crue fan and I have never bought any of their albums but I did think their "Behind the Music" on VH1 was one of the most interesting. Well, the book is a thousand times better. I couldn't put it down. These guys tell all and don't care about naming names. More people from mainstream Hollywood turn up in this book than I could've ever imagined. And according to Motley Crue, they are all blood-sucking, sex-craved, money grubbing psycho's! And I have a feeling they are telling the TRUTH! This book made feel naive! Enjoy.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Must Read For All Crueheads
Review: Awesome story of 4 guys hell bent on self destruction. The Dirt really took us die hard fans behind the scenes to explain some of the mishaps that took place.

So much is made about how athletes are so young to come across so much money - the same happens in music. You have 4 young guys with lots of money and watch out. All young bands should read this! I may have my kids read the dirt when they are in their late teens because The Dirt takes the glamour off drugs.

Well written, and a book that was hard to put down!
