Summary: Partisan Attack
Review: After reading this book, it becomes obvious that it is not an objective analysis of so-called questionable dealings by Rev. Jackson. Instead, I found that the author used the advocacy of a lawyer to present the facts in a way that was bleeding with partisanship.

Thus, this is not a book for those interested in learning history, it is only rhetorical fuel for Jackson-bashing.

Summary: Do Not Blame the Author - Blame Jackson
Review: This book states the obvious. Most people half awake can see his scam a mile away. This is not a race issue; it is a scam that uses the race issue. It might not be PC to attack a black man, but when he uses the weakness in his fellow man black and white to enrich himself one needs to blow the whistle.

Let us give Jackson a small benefit of doubt. Years ago when he worked for King he was an idealistic young man. But that has long passed. We now have a man milking the system and taking what he can - it is as simple as that. And blame the people and corporations that support his habit.

Summary: I am shocked.....
Review: Oh, come now. How could any intelligent person not realize that Jesse Jackson wasn't a self serving, political hack. Speaking from the perspective of a 50 year old Black man from Indiana. All real evidence concerning Jesse has always been negative.

The only people that worship Jesse Jackson seem to be liberal/I-want-something-for-nothing/democratic party machine/labor union with a large dose of socialism tossed in for good measure. Granted, this is generalization and, unfortunately, there are good people out there who think he has done something besides talk in rythm. Anything is possible.

There are people out there that think Clinton was more than the best example of a mediocre president in modern times. Go figure.

Jesse Jackson has always been the most famous unprosecuted criminal in the Tri-state area.(IN,IL,WI) From his unabated womanizing to his overtly liberal approach to God and the bible to his criminal pursuit of riches. Jesse has never spoken for Black people except when it benfited him. This is only a surprise to white liberals. Blacks sworn to secrecy aren't talking about it. Unfortunately. I don't know who this guy Timmerman is but he deserves to make a pot load of money on the book.

The book is well written, interesting, and totally believable. Ironically, most of the material is already known by anyone that has spent any time around Jackson, his people, or worked in democratic party politics.

Summary: Visceral and Nauseating
Review: I almost threw up when I read of all the high crimes (none of them misdemeanors) which Mr. Jackson has committed. However, I stuck it out and finished reading this expose'. He should have already been incarcerated for such things like embezzlement and racketeering. Don't you just love it when a man like this uses Scripture and other things solely to justify his own means? Mr. Jackson, like the rest of us, you WILL give an account unto Almighty God for what you have done in your life (and there is no quoting Scripture to get your way out of this one)!

Summary: The ... uh... "Reverend"
Review: As a Black conservative, I realized long ago that the only color Jessie Jackson cares about is green, the only god he serves is the all mighty dollar and the only church he represents is the cult of Jessie.

Mr. Timmerman is to be commended for exposing all the dubious dealings of this so-called civil rights activist.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Shakedown, a must read
Review: This should be required reading for every academician preaching 'diversity' and 'inclusion'. The 'reverend' Jackson is a poverty pimp, a modern day thug, a racketeer, and he is universally protected, just as the mob offered protection through extortion in the 20's. Why the 'reverend' Jackson is not in jail is a mystery, in fact, it is an outrage.
I recommend a large roll of Tums or better yet, a good supply of Zantac. This book will turn your stomach.

Summary: The Black Equivalent of Bill Clinton
Review: I have always thought Jesse Jackson to be a race hustler but even I was shocked to learn the whole truth as presented in this book. This is a very interesting account of the dark side of Jackson, the one you'll never see on 60 Minutes or Nightline. You'll have trouble putting this book down no matter how you feel about Jackson.

Any benefit to the Black community from Jackson has been coincidental. His primary motive has always been to make money for himself and a close group of friends and relatives. I have to give him credit, he and his friends have become fabulously rich by shaking down timid corporate CEOs, though Timmerman does point out a few who have stood up to him.

Timmerman's is the first book in decades to tell the truth about Jackson. Why is everybody so afraid of him? The sycophantic media has always licked his boots. That's probably the main reason he has been so successful--absolutely no scrutiny from the press.

The worst case of media fawning that I ever saw, and this isn't mentioned in the book by the way, was Bill Kurtis when he was anchor at WBBM Channel 2 in Chicago. Jesse was pushing for DC statehood and had proclaimed himself Shadow Senator for New Columbia. Kurtis conducted a puff-piece interview with the Shadow and respectfully called him Senator throughout the whole thing, as if he were actually a bona-fide senator. The director even sub-titled Senator Jackson on the screen when Jackson was on camera. It was unintentionally hilarious, and of course Jackson ate it up. He is accustomed to being coddled by the media.

Timmerman lays out the whole Jesse Jackson story from his rise to fame after the King assassination. He was never the chosen successor of the SCLC and he soon left that group to go out on his own. He had a relationship with the El Rukn crime syndicate in Chicago through his half-brother Noah Robinson. Jackson was a leftist radical. His political views are totally socialist. But his first love is money and power for himself. The PUSH Empire has always been a veiled scheme for that purpose.

Jesse really scored big during Democrat administrations of Carter and Clinton, especially the second Clinton term when he was appointed Special Envoy for African Democracy. This was a bone from Clinton to garner Jackson's political support. Jackson had no foreign policy experience and made a debacle of an already dangerous political situation in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria when he tried his shakedown tactics on African dictators.

Jackson is the Black equivalent of Bill Clinton. An amazingly talented opportunist who used his powers of rhetoric and charisma to grab power and wealth for himself, only in Jackson's case he had to usurp the Civil Rights Movement to do it. How different might things be today if Jackson had applied his talent and power to an unselfish cause?

Summary: book review
Review: Yes, Jesse Jackson may have done some horrible things .. He is also human, but I give the man credit for fighting for the rights of African Americans and other minorities. Jesse protested and voiced his opinions on many atrocities that were going on in this country. He really spoke up during a time when African Americans and others were treated un equally in this so called" beautiful America". I will always give him credit for doing that. This book is very good if you want to know stuff about Jesse's bad side, weaknesses and faults.
