Summary: Scathing
Review: Timmerman does not conceal his scorn for Jackson in this exhaustively researched and meticulously documented book. By the time you are done plowing through the litany of his malfeasances, neither will you.

Not only are the well known fiascoes there, (Hymetown; Sister Souljiah; derisive remarks at the Holocaust memorial; corporate shakedowns; lying about being with Dr. King's; and his 'love child'), but he also documents other behavior far more shocking if less well publicized. His relationship with the El Rukn gang- that started in his earliest days of activism in Chicago helped propel Jesse to stardom and his half brother to life in a Federal prison.

Jackson had questionable dealings with the Nigerian military dictatorship. His incompetence in Sierra Leone helped prolong the bloody civil war. He strengthened the murderous RUF and forced the legitimate government to let the murders to gain power, resulting in further atrocities against civilians.

Timmerman even brings into question the legitimacy of Jesse using the title 'Reverend' and with good reason.

I have long held Jackson in contempt. This book provides an arsenal of reasons why.

Summary: We don't move our lips when we read!
Review: Great book, at just over 500 pages a quick read. Perhaps this will give impetus to genuine change in how we respond to race relations in this country. Poor MLK must have been spinning in his martyr's grave these many years with this charlatan driving the bus. One can only imagine where we would be if the struggle for civil rights had been treated as the just and noble cause it is instead of a sharpened screwdriver with which to glean a personal kingdom from corporate America.

Summary: It's about time!
Review: (...)This book is ablueprint for a successful prosecution. The disclosure of Jesse's gangties is precious. The red carpet treatment from Democratic presidentsand Democratic presidential candidates is typical racialpolitics. Think about Jesse's history and influence with past andfuture Democratic presidents when you vote in 2004.(...)

Why did it take so long for someone to exposethis man?

Summary: Racism's finest
Review: It only took me two nights to read this book because it was so incredibly facinating. I'm happy that someone had the guts to finally expose what Jesse Jackson really is-a racist who uses his color to his advantage. Dr. Martin Luther King was a wonderful human being who had true values and beliefs- I believe he would be truely ashamed of the "good" reverand.

After reading this book I came to the conclusion that Jesse Jackson does more to "divide" than "unite." As long as people like Jesse Jackson are around we will never be truely "united."

Thank you Mr. Timmerman!

Summary: Jesse Jackson's reputation destroyed by the honest truth!
Review: This is an excellent book, one which should be on the shelf of every American home and which should be taught in every school. It sheds light on how an immoral, hate-filled man can manipulate the U.S. political system for his own gain. Once released, Timmerman's book "Shakedown" instantly shot to the top of the Amazon.com sales list, and rightfully so. Many Americans have long suspected that Jesse Jackson was not just the glib, rotund, 'rhyming 'n' rapping' religious figure and civil rights activist he tries to portray himself as. Timmerman shows that Jackson has long used the mantle of civil rights to camouflage his own fraudulent schemes and to distract public attention from his scandals. In the process, Timmerman also shows how the Democratic Party enabled and cheered Jackson on, using him as a racial attack dog for their own corrupt ends. This is a truly fascinating book, and is well worth both the price and the time required to read it.

As A Black man, I've always been disgusted by the hypocritical, racist antics of Jesse Jackson Sr. Unmistakably, this vicious scam artist has done more to set back race relations in the United States than the KKK ever dreamed of. Kenneth Timmerman finally shines the light of truth and clarity on this scheming, conniving con man, and meticulously details his numerous, unbelievable crimes and outrages. Timmerman has extensively footnoted and verified his research, so there will be no way Jesse Jackson or the usual Democratic Party character assassins can deny this, although they'll try. The most pressing question I had after reading Timmerman's factual reporting was, "Why on Earth isn't Jesse Jackson now serving a 'natural-life' sentence in prison somewhere, for multiple convictions on extortion, racketeering, fraud and tax evasion charges?" Hopefully, the U.S. Justice Department will read this book as well and feel compelled to finally indict Jackson. As Timmerman clearly shows in Chapters 2 through 8, there's plenty there for the Feds to go after.

Timmerman gets it all absolutely correct. Jackson has supported the insane idea of reparations for Blacks, has been a cheerleader for Black crime, has thrown tantrums whenever a Black person was mistreated, but completely ignored numerous events where Blacks injured or killed Whites. He has extorted various US businesses, incited riots, and has done everything except backflips to get his face on television at every conceivable opportunity. He "counseled" Bill Clinton on adultery while his pregnant mistress sat outside the Oval Office.

I hope Timmerman is prepared for the attempts the extremist Left will make to ruin his career and destroy him personally. They simply can't stand up to the stark reality which Timmerman lays out in his book. Kenneth Timmerman has done us all a valuable service by showing us the truth. I predict that this book will be a profitable best-seller for Amazon.com, as well as a text that will be cited and quoted for years to come. There's not much new in this book, as Rush Limbaugh, black columnist Walter Williams, and black radio host Larry Elder have been commenting on Jesse Jackson's misdeeds and lies for years. However, nobody else has come close to presenting the truth about Jackson so clearly, convincingly, and succinctly as Timmerman. It's a definite "gotta have" - buy it today at Amazon.com. You won't be able to put it down. Highly recommended!

Summary: In the process of reading it . . .
Review: So I'm giving it a neutral "three star" review. I will say that so far Timmerman has painted a pretty damning portrait of Jesse Jackson. I do note that at times his dislike for the man comes across as visceral. I for one will be very interested in seeing how Jackson and his people react to the book.

Summary: What we knew all along
Review: For decades the "Reverend" Jesse Jackson has been an icon for the liberal media. Seldom a word of media criticism about him has hit the papers. CNN even gave him his own TV program and paid him a fortune for it. But Jackson's days of being 'untouchable' may soon be over thanks to "Shakedown"

Published by the same publishing house that came out with the best-selling books, "Bias" and "Final Days.", Shakedown has even more bombshells than those two together. In 'Shakedown', the reader is invited to discover the REAL Jesse Jackson - the one the media will never report on, including how Jackson personally profited from "non-profit" groups whose funds were intended to help poor minorities and civil rights...

...how Jackson used his "public service" image to live the lifestyle of Donald Trump: jets, top class hotels, million dollar homes - the best of everything - you name it!...

...how Jackson earned the name "Action Jackson" because of his voracious appetite for women...

...how Jackson used his complaints of racism against major corporations as a method of out-and-out extortion and blackmail in order to reap millions for himself and his organizations...

...the special relationship Jackson formed with Bill Clinton during the Monica affair and how Jackson got millions in taxpayer funds for being a Democratic Party mouthpiece.

"Shakedown" will knock your socks off and there are many more shocking revelations about Jackson which, in the interests of good taste, are not printable here. In fact, if you believe what the author claims, you'll find that almost everything you heard about Jackson is a lie...

Jackson was NOT anointed by Martin Luther King to be his heir.

Jackson was NEVER even an ordained a minister.

Jackson was NEVER poor or victimized by racism, as he has alleged.

But it gets worse. Kenneth R. Timmerman reveals that Jackson acts more like a mobster than a civil rights leader. "Shakedown" reports on Jackson's ties to the Chicago mob and his ruthless methods: beatings, death threats, career destruction and verbal assaults that border on incitement to murder are all staples of the Jackson Treatment.

If, like many, many people the world over, you are tired of Jesse Jackson and fed up with the media cover-up of his outrageous behavior, you need to get "Shakedown." Unlike some other political publications, it has a genuine ring of truth to it. If only 10% of it is factual, this book should lead to a full Justice Dept. investigation of Jackson, his cronies and his shakedown business activities. He should be held accountable before the American system of justice.

Summary: CORRUPTION AT ITS FINEST!
Review: Manipulation, control and power - that is what this book is all about. There are three certainties is life: death, taxes and the fact the world has its own justice system. What goes around comes around and, in this case, "Reverend(?)" Jackson is exposed for the person that he is both in his "business dealings" and in his personal life. If half of what we read here is true, we can rest assured that Jackson is no modern day Robin Hood. He does not give to the needy, he gives to himself, and has his own misguided causes and personal agenda. Shakedown, shakeup, call it what you like, this book is one that will come to no surprise to those who are already aware of Jackson's greed and ambition at any cost. However, for those who do not know enough about the man to fully comprehend what is going on in his life, this book will shock and astound readers around the world.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: Finally a book comes out that shows what we suspected all along.(...)

Mr. Timmerman does a brilliant job at usingverifiable facts to support what every reasonable minded person hasknown for quite some time.

Summary: DECIDE FOR YOURSELF
Review: It's a sad, sad day when I read this book, shattering my illusions about a great leader of the Civil Rights Movement. I guess the latter-day leadership just isn't up to the standards of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Rev. Ralph Abernathy. I still don't want to believe all of these allegations without a further show of proof, but the evidence here is damning. Where do we go for leadership from here? This book hurts me when I think about it, but decide for yourself.
