Rating: Summary: This misery sculpture is carved from my own flesh... Review: Well, I was kind of surprised how normal his life was after all. Lots of cool pictures I never saw before. Insights into lines that were always abstract like the kneeling on broomsticks and all that. I sort of hate him for going around and doing these book signings where you have to stand in line with your receipt from the Virgin Megastore but he did say he would betray us now, didn't he?
Rating: Summary: A Must Have For Manson Fans Review: This book takes a close look at the life of Marilyn Manson. From the early childhood of Brian Warner to the life of Marilyn Manson now, this book explains in explicit detail events that have taken place throughout his life. Learn what has gone on (from his point of view) backstage and in his personal life. It includes pictures of Manson and people involved in this strange tale. Like me, you won't be able to put this book down. And once you have finished reading it you will only love Marilyn Manson even more.
Rating: Summary: A must have for Manson fans! Review: As soon as I heard that this book was coming out I had to have it, and got it that day. This is a must have for anyone who is a Marilyn Manson fan and who wants to see deeper into the concept behind the music. Marilyn was very honest in this book and told all about his life in graphic detail, while clearing up many rumors. This book is so well written that you can actually feel some of the emotions that Marilyn must have felt. Although some parts of the book are disgusting at times, it was great. And told the story of how a lonely soul went on to over come every obstical in his way and become a truely legendary artist. Regardless of if you are a fan of Marilyn's or not, by the end of this book you will have a better understanding of who he is and be able to appreciate that. -Dan Vincent '98
Rating: Summary: One HELL Of A Good Book Review: A must have book for any Manson fan. A look into the mind of a genius. A book that really lets you get UP CLOSE and (very) personal with America's most infamous rocker. This book makes you step back at some points and say "Wow!" This only gives me more of a reason to read other books. WARNING: NOT ALL BOOKS ARE THIS GOOD. TAKE IT FROM THE SOURCE AND BUY MARILYN'S BOOK.
Rating: Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR FANS EVERYWHERE!!! Review: This book rocked! I wanted to know just what he was all about...what made him tick. I got that and so much more..The Reverend is a VERY intelligent man and is taken as a fool by too many rightwing conservative groups..It is a tell all book from his point of view..I coulndn't put it down!!! I will read it again and again!
Rating: Summary: An excellent book...even if you hate Manson, read it! Review: This book is a large glimpse into the life of rock star Marilyn Manson. It's funny, disgusting, normal yet extraordinary...Read it! He is beautiful. MARILYN SIGNED MY BOOK! WOOHOO!
Rating: Summary: Manson speaks Review: This book is a must read for all Marilyn Manson fans and/or people who want to know what Marilyn Manson is all about. He talks in detail of his family, school life, friends, religion, and everything he has witnessed in his 29 years.
Rating: Summary: A must read, fan or not! Review: The Long Hard Road Out of Hell gives an insight onto the man known as Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner). He describes his childhood as being somewhat oppresive and guided by fear; fear of God, fear of eternal suffering, fear of rock and roll, or so his Catholic teachers taught. He realized the things THEY had considered evil, he found fascinating. And thus began his life as we know it. It is a must read for any one, fan or not as he dispels many of the rumors that have circulated about him. I highly urge Christians and non-Christians alike to read this book as he is very informative and very intelligent. He may even surprise and shock you, but, isn't that what Marilyn Manson is about anyway??
Rating: Summary: The Long Hard Road... an elucidating and informative read Review: This book is for anyone who is even vaguely interested in Marilyn Manson. I learned some new things as a fan, but for those who have only experienced the rumors about Marilyn Manson, this book will help to dispel (or possibly reinforce, depending on what you've heard) them. Quite informative about The Rev's philosophy, making it slightly more clear what he's trying to say. However, it's strangely like Davy Crockett's autobiography, just more violent and graphic.
Rating: Summary: A Fascinating Glimpse Behind The Public Image Review: I read this book over three days, but only because I didn't want to see it end! It's a "can't put it down" book for fans, definately a MUST READ for those who love, or even just like, Marilyn Manson. The first half of the book shows us his childhood and adolescence, and all the funny, humiliating things that happened to him. Everything from his hilarious attempts to find girlfriends, to dealing bad skin, to funny pictures of him decked out in full "rocker" regalia. He's not shy about admitting what a loser he was. The second half of the book deals with his move to Florida, the forming of the band, and the ensuing difficulties, success, and MORE difficulties as they became famous. This is NOT a fact-finding mission, however. This is Manson's version of the way thing's happened. He slags on a lot people, doesn't give credit where clearly credit is due, doesn't talk about stuff that we, as fans, wish he would..It's not the PERFECT Manson book in that regard. BUT it IS the perfect Manson book in that you get plenty of great, great stories--Stories that you will not soon forget! You get a full picture of the person, not just the image. Be prepared to think of him as a flawed individual if you're one of those fans who have him on a pedastal--This book exposes him as person with an ego, problems, and quirks, just like the rest of us.
