Summary: Excellent
Review: I have been a fan of Marilyn Manson for awhile now, by never did I think that he had such a disturbing past. The book was excellent and enlightning. I felt myself feeling sorry for Marilyn as well as being detested by some of the things that he participated in. Though with the back ground that he has it is no wondre that he grow up to be different to the rest of us( well some of us anyway). I'm sure that I will read the book again!?!

Summary: this obviously will be misunderstood and overanalyzed.
Review: his detractors and disciples have already lost the meaning in the message. it was well-written and served its purpose splendidly. as for the posted reviews of the book, i quit reading anything above 3 stars; i wanted to focus on the detractors. sadly, they were no different than the disciples, they just thought they were. everyone knew what the focus of this book was and reading this book would do nothing to alter a readers perception of that focus.

as for my own rating: giving it fewer than 3 stars will draw more attention than a screen full of 5 stars.

Summary: This book changed my life!
Review: Many, if asked to cite a book that changed their life forever, would say something common like The Holy Bible or The Fountain Head by Ayn Rand. I say The Long Hard Road Out of Hell by Marilyn Manson. Why? Manson candidly recalls in his autobiography his evolution from a frightened, weak boy to a strong, confident, and controversial artist. I have experienced many of the things in my own life that he has and I was scared most of my life also. Manson tells how he rose above the status quo to be what he is and I have drawn a lot of inspiration from his story. As an artist myself, I hope to be as stong as he is someday. His book has given me the fuel to accomplish that vision! Thanks, Mr. Manson!

Summary: All that and he can write too!!!
Review: I bought Mr. Manson's book because: 1. I live in South Florida and remember when they were a crappy little band playing in hotel clubs, 2. I sat next to(and had a crush on) Gidget Gein in high school, and 3. although I don't care too much for his music, I have always thought that I would like the man behind the persona of Marilyn Manson. And you know what? I was right. Marilyn Manson has got to be the most misunderstood "celebrity" of the 90's. He candidly tells story after story of the humiliations of youth, not trying to win the reader's heart or corrupt the reader's soul. These are the facts, as told by a boy who was probably too smart for his own good. I found myself having way too much in common with Mr. Manson, although that's not necessarily a bad thing. He is the product of Christian schooling, and makes sure the reader is aware. I don't doubt his credibility, and I whole heartedly recommend this book to anyone who has been misunderstood and misled by their parents, school and religious institutions.

Summary: Marilyn Manson One of the Greatest Minds of this Century
Review: Marilyn Manson in one word: brilliant. Either you love him or you hate him, and after reading this book you almost have no choice but the former. The Long Hard Road Out of Hell proves that Brian Warner is as human as anyone, and as emotionally scarred as anyone. This book is amazing, once you pick it up it is nearly impossible to put down, as it describes in detail his life from early childhood up to the days of Antichrist Superstar. Even if you are a devout Christian or zealot, you should seriously read this book before you judge Marilyn Manson. Anyone who is bored by this book must be boring themself, because Manson admits everything, from his perverted grandfather to the happenings backstage on tour. The Long Hard Road Out of Hell is a must read for anyone who has heard of Marilyn Manson, especially if you hate him.

Summary: A well written book giving insight into the character MM
Review: As the press continues to print lies about Reverend Manson there aren't many sources to tell the press they are schemeing fascists who want to bring them down. But this book reveals Marilyn Manson as he is, without the lies. From his early childhood, to the experimentation with drugs, to his beliefs, the book gives insight and detail into his life, to prove how much people's hate can cause millions of people to hate one person. I couldn't put the book down from the moment I picked it up. A friend who had lowered his respect for Reverend Manson, but still liked the music changed his mind after he read the book. He told me that there aren't many books he had read and liked, but this is one of his favourite's, and I still haven't got it back.
