Summary: explains most lyrics. Can change anyone's view of Marilyn
Review: Awesome book. It explains alot about his life and I can now see where most of his lyrics came from. He is so real. This book gave me a deeper respect for Marilyn. I love him!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: HE'S NOT SUCH A BAD GUY AFTER ALL!!!!!!!!!!
Review: Before I thought Marilyn Manson was such an idoit. But when i read this book, understood him more and more. I couldn't keep this book closed for a minute. It tell's you everything about his life. A couple of sick parts but a good book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Great History, For Steel-Stomached Readers
Review: When I read this book, I thought that Marilyn was the greatest gift to music and to the world today. I guess that the image put false pretenses into my mind. I found out that he is actually a nervous, witty, complacent, determined, and most of all experienced HUMAN BEING. He knows the ways of humanity both pleasant and not so bright. I found the vivid descriptions of what lurked in his randfather's cellar interesting, albeit somewhat discomforting. I still love Marilyn's music, and now have respect for him as a person, not as an icon. I recommend this book to both fans and 'antiMansonites' alike. It will give you a better understanding of what Marilyn Manson is all about, and his day-to-day life. Great Rumor clarifyer..

Summary: Marilyn Manson is god.
Review: Marilyn Manson needs to be worshipped. After reading this book I shed my christian ways and began burning small red school houses with children and teachers inside. You know what, I blame manson and my parents. Not me, because I read this book. Hide your children or they shall perish in the fire too!!! Hail Manson!!!!!

Summary: A Great Book
Review: This book is a very well written one because people often misjudge Marilyn Manson because of the first impression they get and can't get past.I would recommend this book to people who dislike Marilyn Manson because most people who dislike him have heard a rumor. This book was written personally by Marilyn Manson himself so,you know that everything in the book about him is true and you do not have to question anything as you would with a biography. This book is like a guide to a better understanding of the mis-interperted Marilyn Manson.Once you get past the rumors and the media lies, you will see how Marilyn Manson REALLY is and most people would like him.

Summary: An extrordinary treatise on the fire in a human spirit.
Review: This book was riveting. I did it in one sitting, and reread it at leasure. It's honesty is glaring, and he offers no apology. We get into the messy guts of a life revealed without trying to pretty it up, make it look good. As a people, we are dying for want of such honesty. This extraordinary genius shows us how he was created out of a response to oppression, how the human spirit will not be broken. He beautifully illustrates how out of the "facist tyranny" of religion, or any other force that wants to bind the spirit, its opposite will be born. He is the mirror that reflects back the darkness in our minds, and turns it into powerful art. Only few times in a generation does such a one come along.

Summary: this book rocks
Review: this is a really well written book. i wasn't really big fan of marilyn manson before i read the book. i really loved that marilyn didn't write any 'i am perfect, i've always been, i always will' kind of thing...while reading about him as a kid i was amazed how similiar i have been/i am. the book also looks really cool, unlike most biographies (read MANY, i can tell you that) it has many pictures, mostly b/w, but also in color. so five stars and both thumbs up for marilyn!!

Summary: Just read the reveiw....
Review: Although I'm not exactly big on Manson, I respect him for putting a little variety in the mainstream music world. I probably would have given this 5 stars (or even 6, had it been allowed), but no one reads the 5-star reveiws, they are all the same. Few even read the 4 star reveiws. But this book went into suprisingly fascinating detail about all the major events in Manson's life- and as much as I hate to say this- this book DID change my life for the better. People who have not read this book will most certainly call bullsh*t on me, but it is the truth. I recall most vividly when he said that we all are hypocrites, it's just accepting it that is the difficult part- as a human race we hate to admit our most obvious faults. Once we learn that our most obvious fault is not admitting these things, we grow from this knowledge. That peice of knowledge taught me alot. Parents should even read this book- although they may not still like him, they should (unless they are the most irrational christian) gain a newfound respect for him. If you found Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing" books repulsive due to the drug use, you will most certainly be turned off by this. If you were a fan of those, however, this book will offer alot of the same qualities- not only the frequent drug use, but the dark off-beat humor.

Summary: A well written auto-biography depicting manson at his best
Review: In this book, manson is depicted as a misunderstood child and adult. It shows his struggle with Christian activist groups that started back in his roots in Florida roots continuing until today.

Summary: 'Long Road' is Manson at his element!
Review: Marilyn Manson's "The Long Road Out of Hell" is a very good book that presents the music scene's most infamous recording artist as a guy who has worked for the position he is now. His wording is straight and to-the-point. Sometimes offensive, and sometimes dark and frightening, and sometimes comical, "Long Road" is Marilyn Manson's testiment in accomplishing the difficult, believing in yourself, and shocking the hell out of people but still getting away with it. You don't know Manson until you read this book.
