Review: Unique in Ripper studies, this book has the voice of unquestioned authority and does not impose a solution to Jack's identity on the reader. For beginners to the Ripper case, it is an excellent read - if you enjoy the voice of scholarship - but at times it seems to be more of a reference than a chronological compete history. Overall, the best purchase for any true crime or Ripper enthusiast.
