Summary: Excellent book for parents & bi-cultural children to read
Review: Offers a unique insight to what life is like for a bi-cultural child. I can relate very much to Tara's life as I am a parent (the American one) of two Iranian/American children. Also a wonderful opportunity to learn about customs, new words and phrases by all. I hope she writes another book very soon.

Summary: Excellent, even for those who don't know about the culture
Review: I have no personal connections to Iranian culture but I was absolutely enthralled in this book. Bahrampour's vivid descriptions remind you of your own childhood. The book is written for those who don't know a whole lot about the culture, and she does an excellent job of making you feel as though the culture is your own. This book made me want to visit Iran and learn even more about the culture.

Summary: Bahrampour enables you to visualize the places and events
Review: I really enjoyed this book. I come from the same generation and background as the author. I could really relate to many parts of this book. Although I didn't always share the same points of view, I felt that she expressed herself beautifully. More importantly, reading the book made me remmber many places and memories of my childhood. Thanks Tara

Summary: Extremely interesting.
Review: I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm a "full blooded" Iranian who has spent almost her entire life in the US and I learned a lot about how difficult it is to be "do-rageh" as a child, a teen and as an adult. I have some friends who are mixed and I understand their situations a little bit better now.

I didn't always agree with how the author represented how it is to be Iranian and sometimes I was a little angry with her but on the other hand, she did an excellent job demystifying Iranians and the Persian culture. I just came back from Iran a few months ago and a lot of the sights and smells that she describes in her book brought back a lot of good memories from my trip.

I hope she explores this subject further.

Summary: Great!
Review: I fell in love with this book. Fascinating and colorful. It brought me into the streets of Iran and into the heart of the narrator and author! I first heard about the book on C-Span's booknotes and decided I needed to read it after hearing the author read a few passages. I was not disappointed!

Summary: interesting, well-written, thought provoking
Review: I immigrated from Israel with my parents when I was almost 4. I read "To See and See Again" on the recommendation of another child of immigrants, also not from Iran. I related to Tara's sense of not really fitting in, not speaking Farsi well enough to be considered completely Iranian and often not feeling totally at home among full-blooded Americans. Though I noticed that most other reviewers were Iranian, I think that this book deserves a wider audience. Ms. Bahrampour's prose is beautifully descriptive and never boring. I also learned a great deal about the Iranian revolution from a very personal and meaningful perspective. My memories of the 1979 demonstrations by Iranian students on my own college campus were finally better understood and put into context.

Summary: This book was a drag
Review: This book was suggested to me by a dear friend. I was very excited to read it and was sadly disappointed. I didn't care at all about Tara's life. I found her to be very insecure in the way she spoke of everyones attration towards her; this was annoying after a while. This book was a drag.

Summary: A wonderful book
Review: I read this book over the week-end. It was hard to put it down and do something else. Beautifully written. I think Tara is a very talented writer and I hope to see more books from her in near future.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A must read for all Iranians
Review: As an Iranian who left Iran in 1979 as a 14 year old, this book brought back such vivid memories. There were so many sayings, sights, sounds and smells that I had forgotten. This book definitely brought them all back.

Thanks Taraneh for a wonderful book and great memories.

Summary: Wonderful!!
Review: This is the first book I have auctually enjoyed reading for a class. (Global Awareness, Drury College Springfield, MO) Tara Bahrampour does an amazing job capturing the innocence of her childhood and then the struggle to understand everthing in her college years. Excellent job Ms. Bahrampour!!!!!
