Rating: Summary: More of the same Review: Well, I've read all of John's books, and this one was the least interesting, primarily because it contains almost nothing new. John indicates in his introduction that he considers this book to be "One Last Time, Part II," and indeed it reads more like a continuation of "One Last Time" than it does anything else. I've watched the show "Crossing Over" many times, and still have questions about "the other side" that I thought John was going to attempt to answer in this book, since it is subtitled "Answers from the Other Side." I didn't feel like any answers were provided, but rather the information contained in John's other books was just reiterated through more readings and seminars. The truly redeeming part of this book is the last chapter, "Papa, can you hear me?" John's father died while he was writing this book, so John was finally able to discuss (which he had never done previously) his estranged relationship with his father and how even a medium has to deal with (or choose not to deal with) family conflict and disappointment. This chapter can be helpful and enlightening to those people who don't resolve complex issues with "loved ones" before they cross over, and really enhanced my picture of who John is personally. The book is a good read, but I don't feel it stands out in the same way that "Crossing Over" and "One Last Time" did.

Rating: Summary: Not as good as other books by John Edward... Review: While I did enjoy this book, it was not as interesting as his earlier books. His book One Last Time left me with things that I still remember. However, this book does not seem to have the same lasting impact. Regardless, if you are a fan of John's, you will likely find something worthwhile in this book, and it is a fast read.

Rating: Summary: Inspiring and Revealing Review: Written with the same heart as One Last Time, After Life seems much like a continuation as we accompany John on the journey begun years ago. Highlighting John's first time connecting outside the U.S. (Australia), the arrival of son Justin, and the passing of his own father, the reader feels a deep affinity for everyone involved. As in One Last Time, the connections John is able to make between this world and next are in the spotlight, reminding us once again that love is eternal. Whether a first time reader, or a return visitor to the world of John Edward, After Life does not disappoint, although you may find yourself wishing for more!
