Summary: This is a great book about racism in the South.
Review: This book was very good and I suggest u read it. He gave very descriptive details on the racial issues in the South. It was very interesting because I had no idea how bad the racism was back then. You could kill a black man and no one would even hold a trial for the murderer cause the victim was black. If you're interested in the racism of the South and Richard Wright I recommend u read this book. It will shock you to see how easy it was for a white man and how hard it was for a black man. It has very nice detailed paragraphs and it even has Richard getting in fights for all you people that like violence. Richard always thought he had to be the main man on his school so he would always get in a fight the first day and win it with respect from the other schoolmates. I give this book a rating of 8½ on a scale of 1-10. So if your ever bored and need a book to read pick this one up you will be surprised at how much u like it.

Summary: It was very inspiring!!!
Review: The book "Black Boy" by Richard Wright is a very good book to read. I enjoyed reading it alot and recommend that you should read it. The book itself is about a young black boy growing up and trying to do everything he can do in a very racist time period. Racism unfortunetly has been around for many, infact to many years and is always going to be around unless everybody as humans can get along and forget about what color they are, or what religion they practice. Richard has a hard life to live and goes through alot of stuff that now days would be considered intollerable. He is a strong person and gets stronger as he gets older. He is also a stubborn, bullheaded type of person that does not like to take in charity even at the hardest times when he needs the most. He speaks his mind and does not realize it until somebody tells him or he gets into trouble. In my opinion that is just normal for teenagers. We think we know everything and can conquer anything but in the end we are wrong and go crawling back to our parents. Richard unfortunetly doesn't have anybody to fall back on or to help him out in his times of need. He is in my opinion a loaner because he would rather be by himself with a nice book to read then out on the streets partying and getting into trouble. He is smart but it seems like he is ashamed of it. Why would you be ashamed of being intellegent? The only thing bad would be the jealousy or envy of the other boys and girls. I have read other books that deal with issues like racism and talk about what life is like for them. One book that I have read that I would recommend for you to read is "The Power Of One" by Bryce Courtney. It is about a young man and his life, what he goes through being right in the middle of the Natzi War and all of the rasism that is going on. He meets many people, makes many friends, but loses some at the same time. It all makes him a stronger person. He meets a great friend that goes by the name Doc. Doc helps him out in many ways but you will have to read the book to find out. One way that the two books are different are in length wise. The book "The Power Of One" is a very long book but it is worth the time. On the other hand "Black Boy" is a short and yet still satisfying. In the end I enjoyed reading the books and hope you will enjoy them as much as I did if not more. Two books that have been recommended to me to read and I am now recommending them to you are "Kaffir Boy" by Marquez and "Angelas Ashes" by Frank McCourt. I hope you enjoyed reading my review and take the time to read them amd maybe learn something out of it. I know I did...

Summary: A truly moving story of human condition: a must read!
Review: This book has a very strong persuasive power; the reason why this book as a universal appeal to anyone, I think, is that what he's struggling against is not only limited to his material world, but also the spiritual one. What he constantly wanted is "revolution", which we, also as human beings, are always seeking for. Although the message from the book is a pessimistic one, it made me convinced that there is always a hope where we can pursue our happiness in the society we live.

Summary: a intriguing book
Review: richard Wright vividly depicts the racial tensions between the negroes and the whites during the early 1900's. Wright constantly emphasisez that if he had not rebeled and thought his own way he may have become a typical Black man in the times who followed the white ways. This book tels us as people that no matter what the circumstances we all must object to something at one point of our lives if we truly believe in it.

Summary: Autobiography
Review: This book is an autobiography about Richard Wright's childhood.I like this book because the writer modevates you in continuing to read. His childhood was very interesting, he had a hard time when he was young. He got into many fights and in trouble. He was very conservative, he always stared himself so he can save money for his mom and other things that were more important. He constantly got into trouble. He got abused and hit.
