Summary: Great photos - a little too much text
Review: The photos in this book are wonderful, but I found the biographies to be a little excessive! Get ready for a long read. However, if you're like me... Its kind of nice to have a big colorful book that you can pick up now and again. When I do, I read something new each time due to its colossal size!

If you want a collection of great photos of the Fab Four, then this is for you! Makes a great coffee table book...

On another note... If you read and play music, get the Beatles Complete Scores! One of the coolest things you can get!

Summary: Design gets in the way of information
Review: Somebody designed this book and they ought to be shot. It is not well-organized, coherent, or even easy to read.

Still, the Beatles. What more can one say? What strikes me is how current John Lennon sounds intersperced with more recent interviews with Ringo, George, and Macca, even though John's been dead longer than Jacob Marley.

Summary: A standard for any Beatles fan!
Review: For those of us in the world who have been touched by the Beatles and their music, for those of us who have ever been curious about the Beatles and their music, and even those of us who don't even like the Beatles, this is the book to buy.

"The Beatles Anthology" provides an inspirational, coming-of-age story of the greatest and most influential band of our time. You hear from all of the Beatles themselves: their opinions, their childhood stories, and their own personal description of life as pop icons.

Bottom Line: Throw away all your old Beatle biographies and usher in the new biography by the Beatles themselves!

Summary: The real story and new revelations
Review: Even if you've read all the Beatles books, the number of interesting never-before-revealed facts that the Beatles themselves talk about in this book will pleasantly surprise you. It's a big book but you don't notice the time when you're reading this book. If you've never bought a Beatles book, buy this one. It's absolutely fantastic.

Summary: Too Heavy!!
Review: You will need a strong coffee table for this 10 pound monster. Don't plan on reading it in bed. It's just too uncomfortable to pick up, sorry.

Summary: And I love them!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! I read it from cover to cover although you really don't have to. Pick it up and open it up randomly and I guarantee you won't put it down. What I especially loved about the book was how John Lennon was represented. His viewpoints and recollections about the topics at hand are presented alongside the others' seamlessly. The book is truely a work of art. This book and the whole 'Beatles Anthology' project prove that the Beatles were, without a doubt, a class act.

Summary: Excellent History Straight from the Beatles Themselves
Review: Being a young man of 19 I was pulled into The Beatles and their great music not even a year ago. Since I was born at a time when Lennon was already a year gone, I wanted to know more about them. This book did just that. It is the first and only book from any Beatle I have read, and it was informative. Anthology goes year by year, with photos and quotes never published before. It follows a story of the roller coaster that was Beatlemania. And if I must say, with the absence of Lennon's input, his quotes were well placed to help the flow. The book was hard to put down as you learned info on one album and the next was waitng in the pages beyond. A steal at $...

Summary: There are places I remember
Review: The Beatles Anthology is an excellent read. Although lots of this information is somewhat familiar, it is brillantly linked into a year-by-year analysis of Beatlemania and well described by the Fab Four. The book is quite large and heavy, and therefore, difficult to read in bed (as I did). The only negative criticism I have is that the later years (1967-1970) don't appear to be covered in as much depth as the earlier years (it seems more pages were devoted to the earlier years). One interesting comment: you can flip to any page and read about their history without needing to read through the chapter first. And, the book gives an excellent understanding as to why they broke up. After reading this, I better understand that Yoko and Linda were just minor players in the break up. It's also sad to see the "boys" (as George Martin refers to them) growing and changing into independent, aging "men" who no longer need the others for support.
