Awesome photos, most of them previously unseen; a fantastic graphic project, which illustrates very properly each phase of Beatles career. Beautiful package for one of the most incredible stories in the entertainment world. A must read for everyone who is interested in the life and the times of the Fabs. Someone could complain about the lack of new and/or "spicy" information, but I think that it's not so important. This is the "official" version, so, don't expect some of "Giuliano"'s kind of thing. It's pure fun and entertainment!

And I really thought that was going to be the last effort of the surviving Beatles together. But here we are now, with this awesome book, with photographs never seen and what is the best, their own words explaining the real stuff (or at least what they remember what it was like). I am a fan of the Beatles, and perhaps I'm not very objective when I talk about Them, but believe me, this is a MUST for people who love music and want to read more about the group that changed the history of modern music. It's simply, the story of The Beatles by The Beatles themselves.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Beatles Anthology Review: This is THE book that all fans of The Beatles have been waiting for! To hear The Beatles themselves telling their story, from their perspective, is long overdue. This book is the only book that anyone needs to read about Beatles history. Who could tell it better? The photos are FABulous too! I feel like it is 1964 again!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Review: Tons of photos. The text is all an oral history. If you're a Beatles fan, this is for you. I am a little disappointed in how many photos we've seen before, and that there are more photos than text. But I still love the book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: pretty friggin good Review: The sheer size of this book is amazing. It's gonna take me years of Bathroom reading to get through this one. But what I have read so far is great because the beatles themselves wrote it so you know it's true! Anybody, even if they don't like the beatles's music should enjoy this book, simply for the fact that it shows how much four lives changed and developed over just ten years. Alot of great insight into the music industry of the sixties too!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Informative and Personal Review: With the wealth of info already out there on The Beatles, one may ask "Do we need more?" In some cases, the answer would be... "No." In this case, I say "Welcome." This book is huge for one thing. There are a lot of pictures you've seen before, but a lot of personal pics seen for the first time. Like the video Anthology, we get to see a more personal side to The Beatles in this book. One drawback is that you'll notice some of the same images from the video as you do in here. Also, in terms of content you'll often just see written quotes from the video. Regardless, there is plenty of new material here to make this a "5 star" effort. Having read almost every Beatle book out there, I would have to say this is a definite buy. Final Note: Once again, only drawback is some overlap with the video Anthology which is expected.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Finally, From the Beatles Themselves! Review: Finally, we get the Beatles' story from none other than John, Paul, George, and Ringo themselves! In this long Beatle Auto biography, the reader will be delighted by the never before seen photographs, as well as an elegant design that is in the 368 pages. Pages that end with a delightful tribute to John Lennon, in the Lennoneqsue witty hand written statement by non other than John himself: "By hook or by Crook I'll Be Last In This Book John Lennon" Each page has detailed information by each Beatle that spans from their childhoods in Liverpool, to the band's break up in 1969. I encourage the purchase of the phenomenal book. If you're reading this guys, I just want to say hello!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A New Spin on a Old Tale Review: "The Beatles Anthology" doesn't reveal much new history about the band; the Beatles are already perhaps the most exhaustively chronicled and dissected group in history, and there are books that offer day-by-day diaries of the Beatles' lives and their music. (There's even one book, Mark Shipper's "Paperback Writer," that's a hilarious semi-fictional history, complete with loopy footnotes.) What "Anthology" does do is offer first-person viewpoints from the four men who sat in the eye of the storm called "Beatlemania" and present their often very different memories of the same events. The book's release comes more than 30 years since the group's breakup. During that time, each band member embarked on varyingly successful solo careers, and also endured an unfathomable tragedy -- the 1980 shooting death of Lennon by a deranged fan. Despite the distance that time has provided from their days as the best band on the world, the living members say they will always be Beatles. "It was a one-way love affair," says Harrison. "People gave us their love and their hysteria, but the Beatles lost their mental health." Ringo Starr's thoughts are more poignant. It's "impossible to turn the page and say, I'm no longer a Beatle," he says. "To this day, and for everyone, that's all I am."
