Summary: Manna from Heaven
Review: Oh my god! The Beatles "Anthology" is manna from heaven!! Jam-packed with recollections, photos, receipts, ads, etc. Truly a gift from the gods that will keep Beatle fans happy and fascinated for years to come. Thank you thank you thank you John Paul George and Ringo for opening up and letting us in -- Certainly, the BOOK of the YEAR ... and the most awesome Beatle book there will EVER be !!!!

Summary: The Eye Of The Hurricane
Review: This book gives us a fuller picture of Beatles history from the people at the center of it all. A lot of books have already been written and this one provides fresh takes on many familiar stories. I enjoyed reading about the Manila and Maharishi episodes. Also, there are hundreds of great new pictures similar to already famous shots on almost every page of this immense volume. One minor complaint is that pictures and text tended to take up the same spaces making both a little hard to look at. This is a pricey book book it is well worth it for any Beatles fan. We've read biographies, histories, and discographies but this is the only one that tells the stories and feelings about the four men who were right in the middle of it all.

Summary: ....and whence the Stones
Review: OK. Now that the Beatles are out of the way, when can we get a similar, excellent chronicle of the Stones? "The Rolling Stones: A Life on the Road" was great, but not nearly enough new stuff, and virtually nothing for Stones fans already in the know. We Stones fans need something like "Anthology". Leave it to the Beatles to get their first, though. As usual.....

Summary: Beatles Anthology is fab!
Review: I have read them all... I have seen them all.. this is the most fabulous of all Beatles books!

It is "them" talking frankly which I always love... and it's rare to find!

There are tons and tons of clear, and I mean clearer than I have ever seen photos... many that I've never seen before!

Tons of photos that are crystal clear and from all the years!

This book is fantastic, as Amazon.com has it so inexpensively priced!

I ordered it and it came almost overnight!

Summary: Display This Coffee Table Book & Guests Might Ignore You !
Review: This beautifully bound book is more than I expected . The Beatles have always delivered on quality and value for the fans and this is no exception . Many photos are recognizable to the foursome's rabid followers but much more are new to public view . One picture I especially like is one of George and Paul sharing a laugh at a studio mike during sessions for the Abbey Road LP . ( And to think popular myth says they never had fun in their latter days as a group!). The layout is creatively done with writings and documents of Beatle significance often overlaid on the page . Think you know about all there is to know about the lads ? ... Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr , and the recorded rememberences of the groups founder John Lennon will prove you wrong . After over 30 years of a mountain of Beatle books it's only fitting that The Beatles themselves have the last word . To those who would say that they are just cashing in again on their fame I say : So What ! The Beatles were ripped off financially in so many ways in their performing days that they deserve everything they receive from this book .

Summary: Good Collection
Review: The thing that makes this anthology a valuable buy is the fact that, while it doesn't contain any secrets or new information, it is incredibly comprehensive. The Beatles Anthology meticulously chronicles the world's most storied band and is fully equipped with first-person views on the band members, riveting anecdotes, and tons of pictures.

If you are a die-hard Beatles fan, the book comes highly recommended. If you are a casual fan looking for a single, definitive biographical volume -- this is it.

Summary: As big as the band it covers...
Review: My first reaction when I took this collection out of its box was, "Holy crap! This thing is HUGE! " And rightly so, considering this is the Beatles' entire history described in their own words. No 'ifs', 'ands', or 'buts' about it: The Beatles were and are THE BEST ROCK 'N' ROLL BAND EVER. I love the artistic license that was taken with this publication. Text over a background of incredible photographs is a great touch throughout the book. Graphically rendered reprints of such historical documents as the contracts for their concerts and Apple Corp's formation are amazing. And this is not a mere photo album with the occasional caption included (though I wish many more of the photos in fact HAD captions to properly detail some of the momentous occasions). This book has a TON of text. No stone is left unturned, and all Beatles fans are better for it now. Peace & love always, and enjoy the book!

Summary: A Must-Buy!!!
Review: This is basically THE greatest Beatle book I've seen. After this, you don't want to read any other books about them, because they're not actually in The Beatle's own words. The layout is positively GORGEOUS. Even though I'm still reading the beginning part, I like to skip around and just look at all the glossy pictures. The colors, the pictures- amazing! I love how they equally represented John, too, in this. A lot of books don't do that. (I was born exactly 7 years after he was killed). This is a great book for devoted Beatle fans, such as myself, who love them but weren't around back then. It's probably great for the baby boomers too. Buy it! You won't regret it.

Summary: At last
Review: A Beatles book by the guys themselves and not another unauthorized book lacking facts by a hack. Full of illustrations and detailed comments by the Fab Four (John's comments are taken from various interviews and writings from 1963-1980), and a few by their immediate entourage, it is priceless,...

Summary: Best Beatles Book
Review: If you only buy one book on the Beatles this is the one to buy! It's a lot of fun to read and very accurate coming from the band themselves. Great photos and text.
