Summary: A Deeper Understanding of tupac
Review: By reading this, u can see why people called this man the best lyrical writter ever. The poems in the book describe his life and his struggle in the early years, and shows us that he was very well talented, a genius before he rose to stardome. Best poetry book ive read and is a must buy for any tru tupac fan, or anyone who appricates poetry or good music.

Summary: Thug Life for All Seasons
Review: For a long time I kept hearing great things about this collection of poetry by Tupac. Well I finally got hold of a copy. I was impressed by Tupac's way with words. What really amazed me was the oh-so-tender side of him. He was able to display such sensitivity! My favourite poems include: "If There Be Pain, Life Through My Eyes, And Still I Love You, The Power of a Smile, The Sun and the Moon, And 2Morrow." Tupac you touched me and so many others. Thug Life for All Seasons!

Summary: not his best work
Review: first of all, i want to say to anyone reading this review, don't get me wrong, tupac was a brilliant artist. i'm not giving him or his music 2 stars, but this collection of "poetry" does get the 2 stars. it was a horrible collection. i bought it expecting so much more, but he makes the mistakes that so many other young poets make when writing. in fact, i the only reason i'm even giving it 2 stars is one for each of the good poems in the collection (the rose that grew from concrete & in the event of my demise). there is a lot of promise in the poems, but he needed more work. if you really want to find tupac's poetry, listen to his music. that's where his poetry is.

Summary: I love this man
Review: This book is excellent. I read it at Tower Records and it touched me. He had written so much before he died, and I wonder if it is possible for someone to have written so many songs and poems that till this day new songs and poems are still being released? His songs are all poems... It was very unfortunate that a person with such talent had to be taken away. Worst of all, I did not know what this man did until he died. Like millions of other fans, I thought that Tupac was just another rapper, but unlike others this man was a poet. He spoke from the heart, and it touched me and many of my friends. He inspired me to not to give up and even when it seems that things are too tough to handle, you have to always "Hold your head." Like Jimmy Hedrix, Bob Marley, Martin Luther King, This man is more than just a rapper he was an Idol. Today marks the 4th year anniversary of the death of Tupac. 9/13/2000

Review: Tupac was the greatest rapper of all time,everyone new that,and still does.I haven't read the book but by the way readers of it made it sound it sounds great.I ordered the book today and i can't wait to read it.I have almost everything Tupac has ever made.And to think such a talented man has died is the most sadest thing I can think of.Even though he's a thug,he seems very nice because I met him 2 times in LA.I will always be 1 of Tupac's #1 fan. R.I.P Tupac we all LUV you.

Summary: See The World Through The Eyes of a Great Man
Review: "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" is an amazing collection of poetry by Tupac Shukur. The poems let you go deep in his mind and see a side of Tupac that most people have never seen. As you read his poems you start to realize how he truly feels and what messages he wants to get across. You also see the pain and obstacles in his life that he had to overcome. Some people listen to Tupac's music and just hear the negative and the cussing. Not understanding that you have to know the negative to see and understand the positive. Some people see Tupac's music as a bad influence, because they don't listen to all the words to get the real message. This collection of poems is a great way to understand Tupac's life and to receive his true message, to end crime and to stop the hate. This collection of poems has had a great influence on my life and the way I look at the world. I think that everyone who reads this book can relate to Tupac in some way and I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of poetry about life and of course to anyone who loves Tupac.

Summary: tupac was more than a man, he was a visionary
Review: Throughout Tupac's short life and career, he manages to fortell his own future. The same is the case in this book of poems. He speaks of a rose that flourishes against all odds. Wheather he new it or not, he was discribing his own life. No one had hope for him. No one thought that he would be anything, but look were his life took him. Fame and fortune, what more could he want. I can't even begin to imagine how he could be so deep. He had a hard life and limited education, but still there was something special in him. He had an amazing way with words even when he was 19. He dipicts his life in the ghetto, but he always seems to have hope for the future. I would suggest that anyone read this book because it shows a side of Tupac Shakur that he hid from the media in his latter days. You will be forever missed. Thank you for giving the world a little insite into the mind of probably the greatest visionary of the 90's. R.I.P. Tupac Amaru Shakur

Review: Tupac had his way of looking at life. He has a good understanding of life itself and everything in it. His poems hit the soft spot in are hearty that makes us cry. They are not tears of sorrow or happiness. They are just tears. Tupac will live forever and is with us right now...in that soft spot in are hearts

Summary: His Legend Lives On
Review: Tupac Shakur's collection of poetry is as dynamic as his life and songs. Tupac has touched on many subjects that cross the racial barriers in his book. He seems a young man full of hope and promise. The gangster mentality is almost nonexistent in The Rose That Grew From Concrete. His thoughts on love and relationships are wonderul and moving. Even his poem about death is insightful. Some of the poetry really touched my soul. I have been a Tupac fan for many years and when I saw the book in the store, I immediately started reading. The poems are compelling and remind me of his life. I couldn't wait to share The Rose That Grew From Concrete with my family and friends. If you love poetry and the African American culture than this is a book to add to your collection.
