Rating: Summary: A Look into The Soul Review: I love this book. It is like a window to his soul... I know that he was not just any old person runnin' his mouth on the mic. I believe that it is alot more to him than what others have said, and that is true. This book is proof to that fact. I believe that anyone can relate to aleast two of these poems. He expresses his emotions in a clear deep and beautiful way. I respect his work bein' a poet myself. I write but my words cannot commpare to his because of the depth of his emotions. If he were still alive today I believe that he could have lead a new revolution fo our black people. With every word he spoke there was power. He was a great influence to us all.WORTH EVERY CENT OF MONEY SENT AND MORE!!
Rating: Summary: Hip hop mind-states.. Review: I agree with a couple of these people who classified tupac as a genius. I truly believe that he was, for too many reasons to go into. I am a member of 'hiphop' culture. Most people who consider themselves 'hiphop' or listen to underground music, dont consider tupac to be hip hop- and instead categorize it as gangsta.. I disagree very strongly with those people. His (tupac's) style, lyrics, music are in a realm of their own- period. Cant no one diss on his talent, f'real. His lyrics have changed the way I look at a lot of things; Tupac will always be one of the greatest emcees of all time in my opinion. 3-2-....

It'z the GREATEST book of all time frum the GREATEST rapper of all time !!!!!!! Rest In Peace...Tupac Amaru Shakur...1971-1996...U R 4Eva missed !!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Only for the realist Review: I feel that this book truly shows Tupac for the person he was. This collection of his works allows the world to view the side of Tupac that the media never showed. Through his poetry, we are able to see the intellectual side of Tupac-the softer side of Tupac. His death was truly a waste of talent. I hope that people will continue to love Tupac for who he was as I always will.
Rating: Summary: The Rose That Grew From Concrete by Cory Contini, age 13 Review: This is an amazing book with some, if not all, of Tupac's best poetry. This is a mixture of his thug ways and also he's deep emotions from girlfriend's to life problem's to "Panther Pride". Tupac Shakur is an amazing rap artist, evryone know's that, but, now, releasing to the world through The Rose That Grew From Concrete, his poetry. I recommend you borrow if not buy this book. Sit down and really listen to what he's saying, and if you love his book, you'll love his music even more!.

He was an actor, rapper, poet, activist. The guy was a genious at what he did. Tupac Shakur will always be a legend in my eyes. I love Tupac, and their is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him. Tupac lives on in my heart forever. This book is touching, sweet, emotional, and sad. I very muched enjoyed reading his poetry. I purchased this book for my brother who loves Tupac very much, but I ended up getting into it also, even more. Rating: Summary: CLaSsiC!!! Review: Having grown up as a child of the hip-hop culture, I was already familiar with the mind and expressive quality of Tupac Shakur's words. Naturally, when I saw this book in bookstores, I immediately picked it up and pulled back the cover hoping to discover more heart-felt and soul-originated words that I had come to expect from this talented and diverse mind. The verses that I found inside met and exceeded my expectations. The contained verses allow readers to see into the very soul of a talented man. Tupac was a living example that a man with Thug Life tattooed on his stomach could feel things and express them with the mortality of any other human being. He is a man who I would immediately choose as an example of an exception to the stereotypes. He is a man who has influenced me as a fellow Black poet. It's a shame he became a victim so soon. These verses so impacted me that I posted a couple of them on my wall! Regardless of your background, age, creed, sex, or religion you will definitely enjoy what is hidden between these covers.
Rating: Summary: Truly a genius before his time Review: I knew that this young man was an excellant rapper. But, when I read his book of poetry I was deeply moved by the insight that he had. Very gifted person & way ahead of his short lived time---This book is being used by schools in my local area to help identify with what is really going on in young person's lives, it is being used to close a gap in our society & to show people that all people have the same problems, pain , trials & tribulations & it's all in how you decide to handle the particular situation that makes you a better person-- this young mans' talents will be missed. I am glad that he briefly let me into his world ---
Rating: Summary: Poetry of a Legend Review: Tupac Amaru Shakur is truly a genious. This book symbolizes what Tupac really stood for. MOst people saw the thug, and only the thug is Tupac. Anyone who reads this book will then find that Tupac wasnt only a gangsta rapper, but a poet, and one of the greatest of all time at that.
