Summary: Well worth the price of 3 mochaccinos!
Review: Howard Schultz's narrative of the Starbucks story is fascinating and strikes an emotional cord on several occasions such as when he learns about his dad's cancer and when he almost lost Starbucks to a private investor.

Though he seldom talks about most business issues in depth, he conveys that Starbucks success is because of his ability to successfully deal with people and sell them his dream.

He is no coffee purveyor (he leaves that to Alfred Peet of Peet's Coffee and Tea and the original Starbucks Owners), but is an entreprenuer who saw a business opportunity and passionately pursued it...very much like Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com: Get Big Fast by Robert Spector). Btw, his childhood experiences are eerily similar to that of Sumner Redstone (Autobiography: A Passion To Win).

Bottom line: a lively read and inspirational to entrepreneurs or otherwise.

Summary: Star "BIG" Bucks!
Review: This book is as much of a story about trusting yourself as it is business. Unlike other entrepreneurs with a history with their product, he stumbled upon his. Schultz eventually buys out his partners, the original coffee guys. Even if you don't like Starbucks (I still root for independent coffeemakers), it's a good read. I'm glad to know that the company has health benefits even for part time workers and other employee perks. This information is what stands him apart from so many other top decision makers. Yes, it's possible to make a lot of money AND treat employees well. Starbucks' success is obvious on every city block. Schultz does fluff the book a bit but overall it's a good view on how Starbucks became what it is today.

Summary: Much Ado.............
Review: Being an entrepeneur and small business owner, I was really excited to read this book. I mean, what an incredible story, that of Starbucks. Howard Schultz, I am sure, is an amazing person to meet, he's accomplished truly amazing things. But it seems like he spends a lot of time in the book telling us just what an amazing person he is!!! Too many exclamation points, too much sugar, too much fluff, egads, I needed a shot of insulin after reading this book. I'd recommend a more substantial business book, rather than this self- back slapping tome............

Summary: As a Starbucks Partner, my review.
Review: I work for Starbucks as a manager, after reading this book, I was pleased to see that Howard has created what he was aiming at, and we're still developing. He instills a lot of respect for the people that partner the company with him, and this is shown by the benefits that are given to the partners. If you want to see how it all started, please give this a read.

Summary: Try Working at Starbucks
Review: OK. I don't read a lot of books. I am an entrepreneur. This book was great. I always liked starbucks coffee but now I have an in depth understanding of how truly amazing a company Starbucks is. You will not be dissappointed!

Summary: Good Book to Read for those who Wish to Develop Own Business
Review: You can see from this book how Howard Schultz upheld his belief in good coffee quality from the begining. Also, he was so committed to bring in new experience to his customers which was a very important marketing strategy nowadays. The book is easy to read and has given the reader a lot of inspirations!

Summary: Starbucks teaches a church pastor
Review: I read this book for leadership content and also because I love the coffee. Lets just say that my palette was satisfied on both accounts. In his text, Shultz unpacks a wonderful story of how he moved from inner city New York to the well-known Starbucks. He talks honestly about how he did it, and the tough choices that he had to make along the way.

I am an evangelical pastor who works at a large church in Toledo, Ohio. I learned leadership, I learned about coffee, and I learned how Starbucks created a culture and community that people responded to. To be honest, Schultz has passed on some knowledge that will be quite valuable to me when looking at how to lead a church and create more than a Sunday morning thrill, but a culture where peoples lives are changed.

Starbucks story will grab you quick and will be throwing tid-bits of goodies at you the whole 300 pages.
