Rating: Summary: A must read Review: This book offers some moral values for entrepeneurs out there. I enjoy this book 'till the last drop.
Rating: Summary: Viva l' America Review: Read all this book to learn how much is important looking for new ideas appreciating the pleasure to discover new culture and tradition. I am fascinated by the pure enterpreneurial spirit of a man who challenge himself and an entire culture. Excellent lecture for people who hesitate to pour the heart into something.
Rating: Summary: Let me just say that I am buying copies to give as gifts. Review: I am a 29 year old CEO of a healthcare start up I co-founded 4 years ago. Anthony Robbins inspired me early in my life, but Howard Shultz has won a permanent place in my heart. His story is the epitome of every entrepreneur's dreams as well as their struggles. Very real issues and a must read for all positive thinkers.
Rating: Summary: Enough to restore my faith in the business world! Review: I'm a soon to be graduated college student and up until quite recently, I was very disenchanted with the world of business and the "whats in it for me?" attitude. Reading the story of Starbucks reminded me that there are companies out there that truly have heart and integrity. More importantly, its taught me to settle for nothing less when I start interviewing for my first job. No hidden agendas, no playing games, just great coffee!
Rating: Summary: Passion + Talent + Luck = Success! Do you have it? Review: As part of a Los Angeles-based internet startup, I'm always looking for people who -- whether they agree with the Starbuck's story or not -- have the same passion, drive, and talent characterized by this book. Especially if they know how to create a brand as effectively as Starbuck's did, they should read this book and also send a resume to us describing what they would do *better* than Starbucks in building a company's culture and its brand.
Rating: Summary: An enlightening, easy read about an evolving business Review: I am not an entrepeneur, but I am a coffee lover. This book reveals the nuts and bolts of Starbucks' evolution into the huge success that it is today. Howard Schultz describes how an innovative company such as Starbucks caught his interest, resulting in his decision to move across the U.S. to become a part of the Starbucks team. The story about his development as a business man is only matched by the interesting details of the company's people and policies(Which were ahead of their time.) Pour Your Heart Into It was an easy read of an inspiring story about business and the world of coffee.
Rating: Summary: I thought it was absoutly wonderful. Review: The book makes me laugh and cry. I thought it was wonderful. It tells the life story of a man who lives in a poverty stricken neighborhood to a multi-million dollar entrepreneur. I thought it was neat how when Howard put his mind to getting the job at the Starbucks Corp. he did just that. It was and intriguing and insightful. I had to read this book as part of a college assignment and I have recommended it to many people.
Rating: Summary: THAT'S why we love his coffee! Review: We serve Starbucks' coffee at our B&B on Block Island. Read Howard's book, and you'll understand why
Rating: Summary: An entrepreneur who teachs how to be a complete leader. Review: Living in a country which is the biggest coffee producer in the world, I do admire Howard Schultz because of his vision as an entrepreneur. It was impossible, fifteen years ago, to predict this tremendous chain of coffee stores in a country where we used to have problems to find an expresso to drink. The book tells a fascinating story of a man who is, simultaneously, a strategic, inspirational, coach and technical leader. His understanding of the importance of employee's commitment (and the reasons behind it) is a model for any manager.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely fantastic Review: At last a book full of integrity, enthusiasm and realism. Schultz is a true CEO that puts passion and people way before money and stock price, leading Starbucks to be the successful company it is today. A "must read" for all people who have dreams but do not dare to jump the gun. A "must read" for all managers who want to implement real marketing, ie when art and science make one.
