Summary: Excellent! Excellent! Excellent!
Review: What a wonderful book for all to read. I read the Book "Rome Sweet Home" this summer after many friends had told me how wonderful the book is. I had so many questions answered through this book. I honestly could not put it down. I LOVED it. I read is so much that my scripture study had started to suffer. So the Lord took it away from me for a while. A friend accidently took it out of my car. She had if for two weeks, and read the whole thing in a week. She too raved about the book and how much she enjoyed it. This book is wonderful. Praise God for people like Scott and Kimberly Hahn who share their testimony for us to read and grow from. Jesus Is Lord! Halleluia!

Summary: Give this book to every Protestant you know...
Review: Many thanks to Scott and Kimberly for bringing me back to the Catholic church. This book is awesome in its simplicity and its depth. Scott and Kimberly taught me to ask some simple questions of my Protestant friends, such as:

(1) Where does the Bible teach "Sola Scriptura" (hint: nowhere!)

(2) Why does James 2:24 say, "You are justified by works and NOT BY FAITH ALONE."?

(3) Why does St. Paul call the CHURCH the "Pillar and foundation of truth"? (1 Tim 3:15)

(4) Why does St. Paul tell us to "hold fast to traditions handed down to you, whether by word of mouth or in writing" (1 Thess 2:15)

As Scott found out, none of these questions have an answer that is consistent with Protestant theology. He was bold enough, and committed enough to Christ, to act on his conclusions. His wife followed four years later. This book will have you shaking your head, wondering how many souls were lost in the Protestant reformation, and hungering to bring them back to the fullness of truth that is the Catholic church.

Summary: A delightful read of a difficult if not tumultuous jorney.
Review: Scott and Kimberly Hahn have provided a guide to the turmoil that a conversion of faith can cause an individual, family and friends. This book maps the jorney of each partners struggle to a truth that they knew would eventually overwhelm their lives and livelihood. After reading this book I think back to their trying times and commitment to God often and with great respect. It is a must read for any newcomer to the church.

Summary: The Best Protestant to Catholic Conversion Story I've read
Review: The Protestant Churches claim that the Catholic Church is un-scriptural. This book through the painful conversion story of an eminent scripture scholar shows us that in fact the opposite is true.

It is a painful realisation when everything you have ever believed is proved beyond doubt to be flawed, but thank God Scott and Kimberly had the integrity to follow their spiritual journey to it's end.

I thoroughly recommend this book to Protestants and Catholics, especially to those who resist the teaching of the Church on artificial regulation of conception.

Summary: There are much better stories on journeys to Catholicism
Review: While one should be happy for the Hahns for finding a spiritual home in which they are happy, this book is mostly smug and tedious. Mrs. Hahn discusses her sadness when her husband announces his desire to covert to Catholicism, due to her desire to be a minister's wife. This is about as intellectually challenging as this book gets.

For a much more compelling and challenging story of a convert's path to and life the Catholic Church, read the many books by and about the great activist Dorothy Day.

Summary: An excellent book - highly recommended!
Review: This story of Scott and Kimberly's unwilling spirit-led journey outside of their mainline Protestant Christian upbringing into an objective evaluation of the "whore of Babylon" and their ultimate conversion is a compelling story.

I highly recommend it to all who believe they already know what the Catholic Church teaches and believe they disagree with its premises. Much misinformation about Catholicism is believed by otherwise well-intentioned people due to the emotional baggage we all bring to this question. Human pride is very fallible. This book will give you a picture of Catholic dogma as discovered from the outside. Good for those not afraid of following truth wherever it leads.

Summary: Intellectually dishonest
Review: Having read Scott's book, it occurred to me that Scott missed the true meaning of the central points of reformed theology. I researched Dr. Gerstner's follow-up comments to Hahn's book, and indeed, Gerstner feels Hahn was rebelling against something he never completely understood to begin with. Furthermore, there was no hint of humility in his writing. His attitude was, "I was right then, and I am right now." Sadly, he has turned away from a personal testimony that was rich with witnessing and sharing the gospel to a practice of self-serving theologizing. I feel sorry for Scott and Kim.

Summary: God reveals Himself to those who search for Him in TRUTH.
Review: The Hahns sharing of their journey to catholism has moved me a lot. It is sad to see those who are most critical of the Catholic faith have not really taken the time to study and understand what catholics believe in. Thank you Scot and Kim, you have made me love the Church more than ever. God bless you both!

Summary: Very Compelling.
Review: This book really pulls you in. As both the authors write independent sections, the book has a "journal" quality. I tore through it in a day, and I must say, it has really made me think seriously about my faith (Catholicism), and how much I take it for granted.

Summary: Hummm....?
Review: I was reading a book on Catholicism which often refered to Scott and said he was a big-time Catholic scholar so I decided to check out his first (?) book. I'm not Catholic but this book has forced me to ask why not.
