Rating: Summary: A must read historical non-fiction!! Great!! Review: The Diary of Anne Frank is a must read book. I being a person highly interested in the Holocaust, think that this book was simply the best of every book I ever read.
Rating: Summary: The most captivating, relevant and intensely human book. Review: Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is quite possibly one of the most timeless works of literature. When I first read the book at about age eleven, I was amazed at the perfect clarity with which this girl who had lived so long ago and so far away had described my own feelings. I have since read it and reread it several times. The book also stands as a testimony to the indominability of the human spirit and the belief in the goodness of humanity. This should be the number one book on everyone's "to read" list.
Rating: Summary: Anne Frank gives a perspective of the real world! Review: Anne Frank has shocked the world with the account of her two years spent in the Secret Annex. Her vivid accounts of the Holocaust will make you think about the times, and remember a part of history. Her writing is enthralling, although I do admit that she explores her sexuality a bit too much. If you are interesed in learning about the Holocaust from a teens point of view, I would highlt reccomened this to you. It is probably more appropiate for teens, because of the newer content that was recently added, but if you wish to read about her story without all of the personal details, try the older version of Anne Frank:The Diary of a young girl. It gives you a more subtle description of her development! I give this book 5+ stars!
Rating: Summary: This book should spark a new recognition of WWII in 1999! Review: I believe that this book is a wonderful reminder to me that even though I was not even born until many years after WWII, I must remind myself that it DID happen, and it affected literally millions of people all over the world.I was 13 years old myself the first time I read this book, and it made me feel very grateful that I was spared from the horror and loneliness that these people endured for many years. I highly recommend this book!!
Rating: Summary: Simply the Best Review: I read this book for the first time in fourth grade and fell in love with Anne Frank. The fact that after reading her diary that she became my heroine and has been ever since should tell you something about this book. It's incredible. It's a universal book--I loved it in elementary school, and I still love it as much as a college student. Anne Frank seems to write about everything I have experienced or am experiencing--problems with family, boys, the whole idea of growing up. And she writes everything so simply and vividly, that you don't have to read between the lines to figure it all out. This book has been my favorite for almost 10 years now, and probably will be forever. It's probably the best account of WWII & the Holocaust ever written. Because of her diary, I have since read everything I could get my hands on about both her and the Holocaust. Thus, I think Anne's diary really relays the message she meant it to--and that's one of the most important things any book should do. It's a must read!!!
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: What can I say? The diary has never seemed real to me before, but on my 18th I went to Amsterdam and Anne Frank House. Seeing the diary itself was amazing, and I would recommend this book to ANYONE.
Rating: Summary: The life of an unfortunate young girl. Review: I have read the diary of Anne Frank and it has moved me deeply! I can relate to her more than any other person in the world. I wept when I was finished and still today when I think of the sorrow I still do. Anne was a special girl and in my heart she still is and her mind and soul was very deep! I recomend this book to everyone...
