Rating: Summary: This is a great book!! Review: A child called "It" was a very good book. It was a sad and emotional book. I could not believe what Dave Pelzer's mother did to him. One thing I liked about Dave all through out the book,is that no matter what Dave's parents, friends or theachers did or said to him, he never lost his faith in God. Thinking about Dave and all the other children beaten and tortured by their parents makes me realize how lucky I am to have parents who care about me. This was a truly great book, and I hope every one reads it.
Rating: Summary: This was a great book. Review: A Child Called It was a great book. It was so good, that it made you think you were acually in the book. When the mother was doing some of the cruel and abusive to the boy. It made my stomack curl and you almost makes you feel like you are throwing up. There are some pars where it feels so real that you don't even want to read it. then when you put it down' you have to read it to see what happens. This justa really good book and I suggest it to anyone. It is easy reading too! I also give hope because Dave wins at the end. The only thing is that you wish that it happened sooner.
Rating: Summary: This is the greatest that I have ever read. Review: When I read this book I got "hooked" automatically because it's a great book to read! The book was sad but true. I don't think any child that lives on this earth should be treated the way Dave's mom treated him. The book was very sad, but Dave Pelzer did a great job telling about his story. If I were him I wouldn't be able to say anything about it, because It is hard to talk about it. I really don't like to read books where people go through abuse, and I think to myself why should anybody go through that pain and suffering. If I liked this book so much, then I know anybody out there that hasn't read the book will like it too!
Rating: Summary: A touchable true and sad story! Review: When I picked up this book and read the first chapter I was touched. through out the book I cried for dave. I couldn't believe how much he went through. Good luck in the future Dave. We will never forget you!!
Rating: Summary: The most heartbreaking story I have ever read. Review: I just read a Child called it a couple of days ago. I read the book in about two hours. I could not put it down. I cried and wanted to jump into the book and save this precious child. One of the saddest parts was when David got stabbed and his mother let him "rest his head" on her shoulder, I could imagine how much he needed a hug and was longing for his mother to love him. I actually went into work and cried to my boss about this story. I will definately read the other two.
Rating: Summary: This Book was the greatest book I have ever read in my life! Review: "A Chiled Called 'IT'" Was a great book! You can't put it down for a moment. NEver have I read a whole book of about 200 pages within a day. It was incredibly sad. For what he went through, I was surprised that he lived through it. I can't imagine how a mom could be so mean to her son and actually make her other kids hate him too. Man, you have go to get this book!It is great! If u want a book to read, that is sad and will scare you of awful things that could happen and you want to make sure that you don't do it to your kids read this one. The best thing aobut this book is you will read it to your kids and your kids will read it to their kids. It is that good. I can't wait to read Dave Pelzer's next book Dave Pelzer come out with "The Lost Boy". Hopefully that book is as good as this one
Rating: Summary: 'IT' is one of the best Review: "A Child Called IT" is a true story made so real by Dave Peltzer that it's like your there. When you turn the page to the next chapter, it's a quick relief from the torment and you can appreciate how lucky you are. I have seldom seen such compelling drama and graphic detail in a book, but this just pulled me right in. It is definately one of the best books I've ever read. It's a 5 star preformance all the way
Rating: Summary: I think this book was great!!! Review: I think this book was great! I mean, you had a lot of action and drama in this book. But I realized reading this book, how lucky I am to have such great parents. I have a lot of respect for David for coming out like he did. Usually you see people who were in David's position, they turned out bad. I like how he defeated his mother by not crying or letting her know that he was afraid of her. It took a lot of courage to do that, because he almost lost his life for being brave. I think David is a great author and a great person for doing this for us.
Rating: Summary: Simply unforgettable torture, with remarkable courage. Review: David Pelzer can only make those of us lucky enough to know the love of our parents to be humbled by his own brutal experiences. It is a difficult book to let go of -- litterally and figuratively. The abuse he endures and the courage he somehow fathoms to continue his day to day living is hope and love and peace to those of us whom have our own pain to recognize and recover. The countless tears are not enough of a recognition of his struggle through his early years. May his will and courage help others to keep their faith and strenghth! May it help all to acknowledge this very destructive abuse. An abuse no child should ever experience. So, as difficult as it is to read through, knowing this person exists and has quite litterally survived...well, may god keep him in His grace.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I work with juvenile deliquents that are trying to become responsible citizens in the community. Many times, they use excuses as to why they cannot succeed. After reading this book, it gave me hope that any child can succeed.
