Rating: Summary: Suprisingly Suspenseful Review: What a great book by AVI that alluminates the mind, while keeping you on the edge of yourself. I litteraly could not put this book down! A must read!
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: This book is both mysterious and suspensful. A boy named Edmund leaves his sister behind in their home while he gets some food (their aunt has been gone for a year.). When he returns, his sister is gone! As he wanders the streets of London for help, a man named Poe offers to help while Edmund help Poe with his wants. Just when you think the book is ending, something else comes up. This is worth your money!!!
Rating: Summary: It was a really great book. Review: This book that I read was really good, because it had lots of mystery and suspend.the books I like are mostly mystery books and adventureous. I liked the part when Mr.Dupin gave a letter to Edmund to give to his love.Mostly the book was good, but I think it should have more suspnse and more Mystery. II think AVI should do a second part to this book.
Rating: Summary: UNFORGETABLE! Review: This book was GREAT!! Supenceful to the max! It at some times sent chills through my spine.
Rating: Summary: A Real SuspensefulBook Review: I think that this book was reeally great because it kept me in suspence and i was always wanting to read more and more and i couldn't put the book down.
Rating: Summary: Mediocre !!!! Review: Some of the book was exciting , but that was it . Don't buy !
Rating: Summary: This book wasted my time!!!! Review: This book is one of the worst books I've ever read. I'm not a nutball who's just writing this to take up space. Trust me! The book is bad! It's boring and has a confusing plot! There are many different sub-plots witch never get solved! The basic storyline is a homeless boy who meets a man named Poe. Yes, that Poe. Poe is a drunken idiot who still manages to help the boy through life. Bo - ring! This book is a waste of time and also a waste of money. Do not order or buy this book. You will definatly be sorry.
Rating: Summary: I couldn't put it down! Review: I've read other Avi books, and this is the best one yet. It was spine-tingling! Just when you thought it was going to end, a whole new problem came up.
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful, suspenseful book. Review: This was a simply wonderful book! It was wonderfully written, had good descriptions, and kept my interest. I couldn't put it down. It also informed me about the life of Edgar Allan Poe, and encouraged me to read Poe's works.
Rating: Summary: Inaccuracy Kills Book Review: Pardon my diatribe, but this book is the worst historical fiction ever written. Anyone even vaguely familiar with Poe's life with be appalled at the grossly negligent treatment of him as a drunk without a single moral in his being. Avi can't ever seem to hold a thought together, and relies heavily on the descriptions of Poe, appearing every other page, emptying a bottle. "Poe" in this book should not be confused with the real Poe. And I suggest for better reading to check out something written BY Poe.
