Summary: Right Place at the Right Time
Review: I was in the airport on a layover while on my way to New Mexico to help my sister with her dying husband. While filling time I wandered thru a magazine & book shop, and found myself in front of a book named TALKING TO HEAVEN. I picked it up, read a little and purchased it. I read part of it on the plane and the rest while at my sister's. Just before Tom died, I had a conversation with him and asked if he was afraid, gave him encouragement, and told him I knew his beloved mother would be there to help him cross. He thanked me, and then smiled. I felt it helped him pass a bit less afraid, and maybe even a little anxious to see his mom. Just this past week, I had a simular conversation with my 40 year old niece just before she died, telling her that her sister would be there to help her. She squeezed my hand and passed on three hours later. If this really helps, and it certainly seems to, I owe it all to James Van Praugh's willingness to share his story in Talking To Heaven!

Summary: Comforting and Healing
Review: I am very aware that many people will believe this message and many will not. I want to take this review to a place that makes sense for most people. It doesn't matter if you believe James Van Praagh is talking to people in Heaven or not. To me, his take on Spiritual themes are very accurate. For me, a good guide to quality spiritual books is to look for those who promote love and not fear. If a book is filled with fear, this is not one that will promote peace and truth. I find his message filled with unconditioned awareness that is the essence of soul. In Mr. Praagh's words, I hear a strong sense of humble gratitude for his gift and not arrogance that would lead me to think he is false. I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for a sense of meaning and hope beyond this life. This book is not written to be a practical caregiving book. Review: I have seen James on TV and was very impressed, but I wasn't sure of the book, until I read it. It was very emotional and I really enjoyed the book and the experiences. I finished the book with a new outlook and felt at peace with losses I have experienced and closure. James is a wonderful experience.

Summary: Left me depressed
Review: Although I do believe in life after death, this book was very depressing. My sister died one year ago, and I hate to think of her just wandering around in a purposeless world. If you need help with the loss of someone, "Embraced By the Light" is a much better way to come to an understanding of death.

Summary: EVERYONE who's suffered loss benifits from this book
Review: All throughout the time I was reading this book, I felt a good sense of self-worth. After going through a period of deep depression in my life, contemplating and atempting suicide, I found James Van Praagh's words very enlightining, and it gave me a feeling of self-worth. I am sure now that "my light" is meant to remain here,amoung the people I hold dear to me.

Summary: Each to his own
Review: Having lost several loved ones over the years has made our family somewhat sensitive to the subject of DEATH. To all those disbelievers & Bible thumpers I say "hogwash". Were it not for our strong belief in the afterlife & people like James Van Praagh we would never have survived the death of our son in a freak car accident at the young age of 21. I wish I had room to list all the messages he sent us letting us know he was alright & did not commit suicide as I originally thought. This is something I did not tell a soul & kept inside for many, many months! Our daughter, his sister, who was 16 at the time had a hard time understanding the why's & how's. He was her best friend, her confidant & wasn't sure how she was going to go on so we finally took her to see a psychic I had been seeing for over 10 years. I did not know that she also channels until our son came thru her to explain everything to our daughter. He also told her to "tell Mom that he did not commit suicide; it was just his time to go". Imagine her shock to find out that's what was on my mind. It's been 5 years & a day doesn't go by that he is not missed. Again, we send our thanks to James Van Praagh for helping us live thru the dark days & nights. We first learned of his abilities right after his death & seems like every time we turned on the TV there was a talk show featuring him. And if it wasn't him it was stories about angels. We felt that was our sons way of contacting us. I can't wait for all the nay sayers trying to prove him a fraud; cashing in on us "poor, can't spell second class citizens" when they finally cross over & are met by all their loved ones! One more thing, one of the occasions when our son came to us to let us know he was o.k. he was accompanied by our beloved cat who had passed away 2 weeks before & slept with him every night. It was comforting to know they are still together.

Review: I was at a very low point in my life when I went to J. Van Prague's lecture. After attending I bought the book and reading it changed my life. I became a new person. No more insecurities, depression, etc. Most of my problems completely disappeared over night. I found an excellent medium who contacted my deceased grandmother. Grandmother spoke to me as if she were still living. Everything she said made perfect since. I am so happy to know that she is watching me and helping. I hope that someday I will be able to contact her on my own, although since reading Talking to Heaven and getting in touch with her, she has sent various messages randomly - happens when least expected (alarm going off on old antique alarm clock that hasn't worked in two years. ) (she had the same alarm clock.) I am going to read "Talking to Heaven" again. It really did lift my spirits and made me feel great. I can't wait to read his other books as well.

Review: This book has brought great comfort to me and my family. I was thrilled to find a section about the loss of a pet. We recently lost a family pet after 15 years. Many people did not understand our grief. Most people find such extensive grieving over animals to be ridiculous. Mr. Van Praagh made us feel that we were not alone; that there are others out there that cherish their pets as part of their family. It is wonderful to think that he may still be sleeping in his favorite spot on the sofa! Thank you for thinking of the animals, they are a wonderful gift.

Summary: Interesting Reading! & Highly Recommended!
Review: I have read all of James Van Praagh's books and found "Talking to Heaven" to be the most infomative. I am intrigued at how medium's work with those who have passed over in to the spirit world. What a gift to be able to do this. I have also read another spiritual medium's book, "Through the Eyes of Spirit" by Jenny Crawford and found this book to be full of love and important information, also highly recommended! I would love to see mediums like James Van Praagh, John Edward and Jenny Crawford perform infront of live audiences, to me this is where the real authenticity of their work begins. Thank you James Van Praagh for a well written book.
