Summary: Whole-brain medicine is possible
Review: Dr Orloff's "Second Sight" provides an example of a whole-brain view of reality. As a medical doctor she is courageous to admit that she has the ability of clairvoyance. She does not care what her peer psychiatricians think about her. She tell readers her story as both a scientist and a psychic person. In her practice, she combines her psychiatric knowledge with her intuitive or psychic gift. She uses both sides of her brain.
I practiced medicine in China for more than 15 years. I also interested in physics and psychology. I have rather strong power of intuition. Scientific materialism and reductionism in life sciences are not convincing to me. I believe that the dominant paradigm, based on the five-sensory perceptions, is not complete, because among other things, it fails to explain the psychic phenomena, including the second sight descibed in Dr Orloff's wonderful book. I strongly suggest you to read this book if you still curious about the world, about the capacity of human consciousness. This is a well written book presenting only facts, not religion, not metaphysics. Scientific materialism is a left-brain world view, which ignores intuition and all psychic phenomena. Dr Orloff's book demonstrates that a whole-brain world view is in need and a whole-brain medicine is possible.

Review: I really enjoyed reading "Second Sight," and I found it to be enlightening and helpful. I felt a real connection to Judith as she tells her personal story. I also felt that the tools that she gives to help the lay person tap into his/her psychic power were very practical and helpful. Her book also lead me to understand my own psychic abilities. It also helped me to have more patience with what I recieve from my psychic abilities. I would definetly recommend this book to beginning psychics and the well established psychics. It is also a must read for those in holistic medicine.

Summary: A Wonderful Read
Review: The only reason I bought this book was that I was going to see Dr Orloff at a seminar with Dr. Caroline Myss. I found her story very heartwarming, growing up with a gift, a real part of herself, which she had to deny and successfully overcoming that domestication to bring her true beautiful self into the world. And we all benefit from that. Her position that we all share that gift has got me paying more attention to my own second sight.

Her literary style of sharing her own mixture of spirituality and professional insight inevitability carries the reader towards a healthier and happier life. In her book Dr. Orloff explains clearly what the sixth sense(s) are and how to develop them. If anyone is serious about peeling off the layers of aritificiality we immerse ourselves in 24/7 and learn how they fit into the universe I would suggest this book. Simply read it then personalize the recommendations within to fit one's own life style.

Review: A truly fascinating work of art! Review: Through wonderful acts of synchronicity, this book arrived in my possession and proceeded to open up my heart to my Self. From the first pages, I had goosebumps from the excitement that Dr. Orloff's flowing words created in me. Her emotional, intellectual, and parental struggles sounded so much like my own, and though our paths were certainly different, we share the understanding and motivation of love, and the belief that everything does have a purpose. I was strengthened by her encouraging words to know and honor our unique gifts, and her permission to let the Divine "flow" through us to help others and ourselves. Her book HAS lead me closer to " the intuitive wisdom of (my) heart."

Judith M.D.Orloff is a very sensitive pychiater, who introduce you in a responsible way in intuition. Judith M.D. Orloff is giving everyone the courage to face their own fears.
