Summary: Goodbye Pimsleur and Hello Language Dynamics!!
Review: Goodbye Pimsleur and Hello Language Dynamics.
No more long single track CDs for me.
I just want to congratulate Language Dynamics on their new second level multi-track Behind the Wheel Spanish 2. I love multi-track language courses because you can go instantly to where you left off. With Pimsleur courses, you have to wait for an hour or fast forward.
The simplicity of this course, beginning with how it explains even the most difficult concepts and gives instant and clear English and Spanish is wonderful. It is impossible to find a course that comes anywhere near this one in sentence structure, real life vocabulary,
two native speakers (male and female), conversations, etc ...
From a grammatical standpoint, the course teaches you grammar but does it naturallly so you don't even realize you're learning 'grammar'. Concepts like double object prounouns for example 'I gave it to him' is 'Yo se lo dí'. Just being able to understand and use this stucture makes this course well worth the money, but there's more. It's like value is flowing all over this course. The idioms, grammatical structures, vocabulary and expressions that you hear native Spanish speakers use every day finally comes to light in this course in a format that you can relate to, enjoy, and immediately use.
Simple review sections are given at the beginning of each CD which on my CDs were Track 1, so skip these sections if you don't need the review.
Skip to the track you want, listen, repeat, learn and enjoy.
It's amazing and I highly recommend you buy it as a follow up to any Spanish course.
By the way. My course came in a tightly sealed heavy duty 'snap shut' type of album which I think you could run over with your car and the CDs wouldn't fall out.

Summary: Great in Every Way
Review: I am more than delighted to have received the long awaited sequel to the classic 'Behind the Wheel Spanish' which has taught me enough Spanish to be considered 'near fluent', and this in just a few months.
I received 'Behind the Wheel Spanish 2' in a professionally shrink wrapped package with all CDs intact. The quality of the CDs is exceptional. The recording and method, impeccable.
Now, for the real course itself.
It is different from Behind the Wheel Spanish 1 in that you are provided with 2 native Spanish speakers, one male and one female. Great plus.
Plenty of review is provided, which I like. After the initial reviews at the beginning of the CDs, the course proceeds at a much faster pace than BTW Spanish 1. There are even male, female dialogs in which you are given the opportunity to repeat.
I had a Spanish teacher friend listen to my set and she was so impressed that she's ordering a copy for her advanced placement Spanish class.
She says that the simplicity with which even compound tenses, idioms, and often difficult concepts are taught is fantastic. She says she has never conceived of Spanish (especially at this level) being taught in such an easy to understand format.
So there you have it .... In every way, an excellent course.

Summary: May be great, but big problem with packaging
Review: I've received two sets of these so far, and in both instances the CDs arrived loose in shipping, instead of being secured. Both sets arrived with several badly scratched CDs. There appears to be a design flaw in the packaging.
