Summary: Well Done series
Review: The Key of Series of books by Nora Roberts was a battle for me. I have picked it up several times and never got ready to read it. Being that there are 3 books in the series I wanted to be able to commit to all 3 books, so I have waited and now have them all. I just finished Key of Light and was pleasantly surprised in the way Nora Roberts continues to create so many different and wonderful stories. Key of Light was another new idea put in vivid detail and brought to life. I won't give away the story. I will just say I loved it!
My only complaint is that it seemed a bit rushed a few times, but it was still worth it because the story was great!
I'm beginning Key of Knowledge and it's starting off just as well so I'll let you know more then.
If you have never read Nora Roberts the Key series is a wonderful way to start!

Summary: A highlight of a book
Review: This is a nice vacation book and it is wonderful if you want to take a break from the day. It's a very causal book. This brings magic back to your day and it was wonderfully written. The details are to a tea and it is very easy to read. The characters are rich and very personable. You really feel for all the characters. Nora has done it again!

Summary: Great!
Review: Three women whose souls are locked, waiting for release. Three women who can find the keys, if only they have the courage to search.

The first, Mallory, a woman with an artist's eye, but not an artist's talent. She's built a life working with art. She has a month to find the first key. But first she must find herself and her true potential. And maybe along the way...love?

A great start to another fantastic Nora Robert's trilogy!

Summary: The fun is in the details...
Review: To those who aren't Nora Roberts fans, but are interested in picking up one of her books: this is a thoroughly entertaining book. It's got romance, intrigue, engaging characters, and an interesting plot. Be careful, though, because it's the first book of a trilogy, and you could easily get pulled into buying two more books. It might not be literature, it might not be art, but it sure is a lot of fun.

Now on to the bulk of my review, which is aimed at those who are already Nora fans: in a way, you've read this before. The characters are mixes of earlier characters, and some are not even mixes: Dana Steele is rather a lot like Ripley Todd, for instance. You can pretty much guess what's going to happen both in this book and in the next two. For that reason, I'd really rather give it 4.5 stars instead of 5. In other words, it's not quite perfect.

However, it's the same Nora Roberts we know and love. Just because you have a good idea of where you're going doesn't mean you can't enjoy the trip. What sets this book apart, and makes it so enjoyable, is its details. The plot is intriguing, and at times exciting. Even though it has parts to it that are reminiscent of earlier trilogies (especially the Three Sisters and the Irish trilogies), it has fresh and interesting twists to it. The characters are as loveable as always, and their details set them apart from previous characters: Dana's books (she's a reference librarian, which I love), for example, and Flynn's dog. And there are a few scenes that I thought topped anything NR's written before.

In short, read it. It's good. :-)

Summary: Nora Formula.... Needs some work....
Review: When gallery manager Malory is sent an invitation to a creepy old mansion on Warrior's Peak little does she realize she will be receiving a quest from the gods themselves. Mallory and her fellow invitees Kate and Zoë are the chosen champions of the gods...Their quest? To find the keys which will free the souls of three trapped Goddesses.

I found Key of light to have an interesting premise, but the book was suffered from some of the most HOKEY plot elements and the most banal characterization I've ever read in a Roberts book.

I HATED the two main characters.. Malory was tedious and excessively girly, and I found Flynn to be kind of a manipulative geek. Their relationship was unconvincing and lacked spark. Roberts tries to overcome the characters lack of chemistry by telling us that there is `heat' between Malory and Flynn, but I've seen more spark in a bottle of antifreeze. These two didn't `click' for me and the romance seemed forced. Plus, every time they got together they were interrupted by the dog. How romantic is it really to have a big annoying dog slobbering all over you, knocking you down, and sticking its nose in your crotch? felt like I was reading a Stephanie Plum novel. It's just not romantic to date a guy who can't control his mutt. It just seems....Unmanly somehow. I know Roberts intended the dog segments to be funny, but I found them annoying and silly.

While Kate (the obvious heroine of the second book), leaves me cold, I'm looking forward to Zoë's story. I prefer her more normal heroines. Women who obsess about their broken nails and fall for geeks like Flynn don't really interest me. Ohwell, maybe book 2 will be better.
