Summary: Nice introduction to Reiki
Review: This book is great for inspiring those with a beginning interest in Reiki to find a qualified Reiki Master Teacher to attend classes, and learn to become a Reiki practitioner. Thank you Diane for bringing more people to Reiki training through this book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Comprehensive Guide to Healing
Review: This book should be read by everyone, and especially those interested in the integrative hands-on healing modality and how it can fit into the conventional world. This is the best of all the books that Diane has written. When reading this book, those knowledgeable about these subjects will find a common thread by other authors/books and a better understanding and substantiation will result. Other authors/books for those on the spiritual healing path are:- "Power Healing" by John Wimber, " "The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide -Tapping into the Miracle" - by Tiffany Snow and "Quantum Touch" by Richard Gordon.

Summary: A Libertarian Approach to Reiki: lots of info, some flaws
Review: This book was the first text I read in my Reiki healing & teaching path. Having gained insights and information from experience and many other sources, I'm now in a better position to discern the quality of Diane Stein's contribution. This book opens Reiki up to ANYONE willing to borrow the book or pay [$$$] to buy it. Making Reiki more open and accessible was a great contribution, as Reiki is the spiritual life-force that we are all a part/manifestation of. However, Diane is a little bit too open to information sources such as the connections between Reiki healing and Jesus as well as the extraterrestrials. While those histories may be half-true, Diane seems to take them for granted as pure fact, like she does with the stories about Usui that have subsequently been disproved. She also recommends some chi exercises that may not be ideal for everyone. I recommend this book for it's openness & wealth of information and ideas, while I recommend reading other books to balance out some of the flaws in Diane's interpretations of things.

Summary: The Best Reiki Book
Review: To define this book there are only two simple words: THE BEST.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent & Interesting Book on Reiki
Review: When I first started my Reiki training, I had almost decided to ignore and not read this book, based off of some of the nasty reviews about it. Eventually I decided to purchase a copy - and I'm so glad I did. This is a great book!

The authors gives plenty of personal experiences in the book, which were thoroughly interesting and educational. Some of my favorites were her stories about initiating large numbers of people, Reiki'ing a friend that refused to go to the doctor, a psychic attack episode and her search to learn the Reiki system of healing.

I teach nontraditional Reiki and believe most anyone would enjoy this book, providing their belief system of Reiki is not a rigid one. I don't teach in the same style or process that Diane does, yet this book has helped broaden my understanding and experience of Reiki.
