Summary: A Step Back in Time
Review: Genesis of the Daleks: Surprisingly this works very well(which I hadn't expected). If someone told me that a tv soundtrack running to 2 1/2 hours could be cut down to 50 minutes and still make sense I would have called them a liar. I would be totally wrong! This just makes me realize that the tv story must be full of padding and running around. It is carefully edited and Dudley Simpson's superb score sounds just great on CD.Exploration Earth: I wasn't expecting much this being a schools radio program for educational purposes, and I didn't get much! The Doctor is written as a patronising and rude pig of a man. Poor Sarah Jane Smith, such a strong character on tv, is treated like a dog! I'm guessing that the writer had never seen an episode of Doctor Who w/ Tom Baker and the wonderful Elisabeth Sladen and it shows.
