Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down Review: Granted, Jackie Collins is not the best writer in the world, and she doesn't pretend to be. Her characters are cliched and their dialogue is at times painful to read. What she does write here, however, is a juicy page turner, a delicious guilty pleasure. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next, and when I got to the end I was satisfied, yet sad that the adventure was over. This is definitely one of Collins' best novels in a long time. Still, nothing has been able to top the original Hollywood Wives for interesting characters, shocking surprises and jaw-dropping twists and turns.
Rating: Summary: A Fun Read Review: I had this book in my pile of books waiting to be read, don't know why I didn't get to it sooner. I loved all the characters in this book, I wanted so much for everyone to get what they wanted and the jerks to get what they deserve, the only complaint I have about this book is that the ending was to rushed but all in all a fun read.Happy Reading Lisa
Rating: Summary: Glamorous and Glossy! Review: It may of been trashy, brainless, tawdry melodrama but I loved this book! Jackie takes all the stereotypes of Hollywood celebrities and throws them together into a glamor-packed soup of gossip and subplots! Like a 500-page tabloid! The characters are all true-to-form spoiled, self-obsessed divas. The goings on are appropriately scandalous. The many talents and many husbands, the wild rich kids, the gay followers, it's all here! The perfect Hollywood novel it may not have much substance but since that's what's expected of its subjects it's just perfect!
Rating: Summary: Jackie Collins- Hollywood Wives- The Next Generation Review: My first Jackie book since the Lucky Series. What a great beach read! And in true form, I was not able to put it down! I want to go back and read the first Hollywood Wives now! Definitely worth a perusal!
Rating: Summary: A True Hollywood Story Review: Only Jackie Collins can get away with mixing Romance, Adventure and a Psychotic killer into a great book. The book started off slow but after awhile it picked up and I could not put the book down. I have always enjoyed reading her books and never been disappointed. This book would have gotten five stars from me, but the title did not fit the story line. I was expecting her to write on various Hollywood wives, like her first book, but she based the story around two women. This was the only thing that I did not care for. But after that, I would recommend the bookto anyone who enjoys reading Jackie Collins' novels.
Rating: Summary: Put yourself in their shoes! Review: This is the first Jackie Collins book that I have read in at least 5 years. It has been a long time and I can see what I have been missing. It was a quick, easy read and even though there is a little bit over 500 pages, I polished it off very quickly. I devoured the juicy details of the Hollywood lives that are depicted in this book. It was a definite page turner and I felt that Collins really brought the characters to life. At first, I was a little bit unsure if I would like the characters. But after awhile I felt myself sympathizing with almost all of them in some form or another. I am generally not attracted to this genre, but I must say that Jackie is a winner. I am once again hooked by her writing style and can't wait to reread the first one. This book will take you to LA behind the scences and take you to places that you usually only see in the movies!
