Review: A simple, helpful guide which has already helped me to make small changes in my spending habits and work towards large rewards - both financialy but perhaps more importantly, with respect to my general feeling of security and my plans for the future. Thanks for reminding me that its just up to me, and its not that hard. I sent a copy to my best friend and little sister, they thank you too.
Rating: Summary: An essential read... Review: Despite being in banking for most of my professional career, I have always had trouble in managing my own finances. It was a scary topic for me, and I found it easier to ignore the whole thing! This is the first time I have ever read anything that presented the whole issue in a reassuring, 'you can do something about this' kind of way. And I have done a lot on the topic since I read the book. I have bought this for my sister, my co-workers and would recommend it for any young woman. It is essential information, presented in a fun and motivating way.
Rating: Summary: Terrific intro to personal finance for young women Review: For any woman who finds the idea of taking charge of her financial future daunting or dull, Get in the Game is the perfect antidote. In plain English and with entertaining analogies, the book breaks down the basic financial concepts that any woman who is not INDEPENDENTLY wealthy needs to know. A great primer for women on personal finance and investing!
Rating: Summary: EMPOWERED Review: I always knew in the back of my mind that I needed to be proactive about my money instead of reactive. I recently saw Ms. Summers on CNBC with Maria Bartiromo and picked up a copy of her book. I am amazed at how easy it is to understand the world of money through how Vanessa explains it - plus, I could totally relate to her personal stories about money and being a shopping fool! I am thrilled to finally be "getting in the game"!
Rating: Summary: Helpful at a difficult time Review: I found this book to be a very powerful and positive motivational tool that can be of significant benefit to many women. The timing is perfect in a world filled with turmoil and confusion, and its straightforward approach is refreshing and practical. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in a financial jumpstart from this 'behind-the-scenes' amazingly savvy young woman.

Finally a book about finances directed at young women, written by a young woman! Vanessa Summers shows us how to prioritize our savings & re-evaluate what we spend in order to create a secure nest egg for our future, a safety net to fall back on, and some 'fun money' for now! She shows us how to set & achieve realistic financial goals. My views about money have been forever changed, and I am so excited to now have the knowledge to be responsible & in control of my financial destiny! Thanks for writing such an informative, inspiring & enjoyable book!
Rating: Summary: Book plus website = financial freedom! Review: I LOVED this book and was so motivated while I was reading it that I signed up for an online software before I got halfway through! Everybody keeps saying that tracking your spending is the first step to saving money, getting out of debt and building a retirement fund. But I've always found Quicken and Money and all those other programs really boring and complicated. Thank God for moneypants.com. Their cashtracking software is tailor-made for idiots like me who prefer pictures to numbers!
Rating: Summary: Great for any woman!! Review: Nice book with lots of helpful information (e.g., charts, tables, lists, etc). The target audience seems to be women in their 20's and as I'm in my 30's I still found it helpful. It's a good beginner book. Aside from financial stuff, it's motivating and somewhat inspirational -- but not obnoxiously so. A great gift for a any youngish woman (or guy) who has just graduated, gotten a first professional job, or needs a little push to get financially organized.
