Summary: The Overfed Head
Review: Finally, a realistic approach to weight loss that makes sense! In his book, "The Overfed Head," Rob Stevens seems to actually describe many of my past behaviors and feelings about weight loss and explains why my attempts ended in failure. My efforts to lose weight using every fad diet that came along were always followed by gained weight once I stopped dieting. Stevens explains that this is typical to any dieter and introduces the concept of "Thintuition," which sounds logical and simple. His approach seems likely to stop the obsession with foods that accompany dieting, as one is trained to think differently about food. Thintuition teaches that you can eat what you want when you're hungry, and discredits the "good food-bad food" ideas that one develops with each new diet. "The Overfed Head" is written in a straightforward, interesting, and fun manner, with much data to back up Stevens' theories about weight loss. I highly recommend this book to any one who is ready to lose weight by learning to eat what their own hunger requires instead of someone else's fad diet. I've tried Thintuition and have been able to lose weight and keep it off and have been able to eat whatever foods I choose. I feel like I've finally been able to break my cycle of yo-yo dieting with Stevens' non-diet approach.

Summary: Finally, the truth has set us free.
Review: Overfed head is a powerful end to a confusing past.

If the thought of an end-all 'diet' brings out the skeptic or cynic in you...or the notion of one more weight loss program leaves you hopeless. You should read this book.

Rob Stevens "thintuition" is more like ESP. I experienced that he captured my thoughts, feelings, concerns and anxiety's about 25 years of dieting and the dieting industry. Overfed Head gave me a new way to think about my body, eating and my experience of a lifetime fat/thin struggle. "Thintuition", the concept he introduces is about getting reacquainted with my natural instincts or intuition to eat when I am hungry and eat what my body wants. I have used this to distinguish the difference between hunger [stomach growling] and appetite [walking by Cinnibun in the mall] and to listen to when my body wants water or fudge or salad or ice cream...and how much. I found out that my head has been overfed with info that actually kept me fat. I have now lost 31 pounds and I will never diet again. Best of all, I will not be concern about dieting, what I should/shouldn't eat, which diet is right for me, etc. That life is complete. This will be the last diet book you ever read.

Summary: The truth shall set you free.
Review: Rob this is an amazing book! I want to thank you for your perseverance and courage in writing this. I am so glad that you have shown us the truth. As I read through the book there was such a strong feeling for me of your sisu(a Finnish word that means kindness, strength, perseverance and courage). In the face of this "diet" world you have really continued on a path that I know has not been easy, lined with skeptics, nonbelievers and people saying you were wrong. But thank you for sticking with the truth and bringing it to all of us and in turn leading us to a life away from the continual diet treadmill hell. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The truth shall always set you free. I can not wait till everyone discovers you, they are in for such a treat!
