Summary: Buy Pimsleur instead!
Review: I do not recommend this French set. I was lost from the very beginning of the 1st cd. I was trying to follow along in the book but it was so fast and it was impossible to keep up. I would recommend French I: Pimsleur Comprehensive because not only is it better, it doesn't have the same inane conversation as most other french sets. "French All The Way" is also a great starter.

Review: I was surprised to read such a negative review, recommending Pimsleur instead. Personally, I find this book comprehensive, interesting in terms of various cultural material presented. Authentic conversations, authentic French. You will certainly expand your vocabulary and knowledge of the grammar and will be able to use it.
The only thing I would love to see in addition is larger texts, stories,articles - any kind of reading material, with exercises to study them.
