Summary: READ IT
Review: I read this book 2 years ago when I was a Freshman in High School and loved it. When I was a Sophmore I picked it up a again and it was just as good. The second time I ended up writing study questions for my previous teacher because she knew I liked it. Then I passed it on to my mother. Now I am a Junior and am about to read The Fountainhead for school which is like killing 2 birds with one stone because I really love Ayn Rand's style of writing. I am very excited to read another of her books. If you've never read any, you should, and I leave you on that note.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Ayn Rand has put together a wonderful masterpiece of love, life, humanism, and morality. It is a beautiful work, portraying the beauty of freedom, and love. Bravo Ms. Rand!!!

Summary: Some Very Good Words of Advice
Review: Having now read the major 3 fictional works of Ayn Rand, I find ahy book written prior to "The Fountainhead" to be non-corrupted AYn Rand philosophy - the writing is clear, it avoids dime novel journalism, and makes some very clear and senseable points. The fact that Objectivism comes off as such a controversial philosophy and is both loathed and revered shows that Rand knew how to be her best publicist. Instead of stating "Don't shovel down our throats that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few" , she states that altruism itself (and its advocacy) is tyranny, and it counters all the morals many of us grew up on. But the book states it best when it says:

"Many words have been granted me, and some are wise, and some are false, but only three are holy: 'I will it!'... ...Whatever road I take, the guiding star is within me; the guiding star and the loadstone which point the way..."

This book should satisfy those with a curiosity of Ayn Rand, and succinctly sums up what she says in 1050 pages in "Atlas Shrugged" in a far more bearable way.

Summary: I loved the ideas that were behind the stoyline in Anthem.
Review: I had to read this book for English in 10th grade and I would just like to say that I loved it. In this book, the word "I" does not exist. When I first started reading and the narrator was referring to himself as "we," I was so dis oriented. I finally figured out what he meant and I remember thinking that it was like he didin't even know the Word "I" and it hit me really hard then- he wasn't even taught the word. This book was a lot like The Giver, but I liked this one better, because they were not even allowed to be human and that was more real for me.

Summary: I liked the beautiful syle of the book
Review: I don't know much about Capitalism or Socialism but the following sentences seem to have inscribed in my mind. This is what the character in this book thinks - "I shall choose friends among men, but neither slaves nor masters. And I shall choose only such as please me, and them I shall love and respect, but neither command nor obey. And we shall join our hands when we wish, or walk alone when we so desire. For in th temple of his spirit, each man is alone. Let each man keep his temple untouchable and undefiled. Then let him join hands with others if he wishes, but only beyond his holy thershold"

I liked her book, "Fountainhead" too.

Summary: Fantastic
Review: I read it when I was 14 and it was very easy to read. Rand's ideas are very important. She does a good job portraying an ego-less society and one man's battle to break free from a collective world. One of Ayn Rand's finest works.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not exactly an "I couldn't put it down" book.
Review: It's fun to read aloud so you can practice your acting but reading it silently gets a bit dull. At first, I was so confused about the "we" instead of "I" that I wondered if maybe that for every person there was about 7 people who spoke and acted all at the exact same time. Okay, okay, maybe it wasn't the brightest assumption but hey, It gets points for creativity. I didn't feel insulted by the book but perhaps it was a little to deep for a thirteen year old. Overall, I'm indifferent as far as liking or disliking it.

Summary: one of the Greatest pieces of Literature
Review: Anthem is one of the finest books i have ever read. It is short compared to Fountain Head & Atlas Shrugged, but it offers you alot. This book tells you of the determination of one man to succed against the odds of a communist like society. His determination and strength can offer any reader a great time. I am only 15 years old and this books has transformed into an Ayn Rand fan. I look foward to reading atals shrugged.

Summary: Man tries to be a different person than his world desires.
Review: I loved this book the way it was written made the ending just wonderfu

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Boring, derivative, wrong-headed.
Review: Her escape from the Soviet Union left Miss Rand with the notion that yes, the Communists were right: materialism is all. She just disagreed with them about how to cut the pie. Her vision is as dreary as theirs. That said, there remains no reason to read this trite book in the vein of _Brave New World_, for its prose is lame and its storyline is predictable. If you're a Christian (even a Protestant or Roman Catholic), you'll want to steer clear of this; if you're a materialist, you'll be insulted. Who likes this stuff?
