Rating: Summary: Sexy and hilarious, Evanovich delivers again with Hot Six! Review: It was a supreme act of self-control to wait for the paperback to be released, considering how much I love this series. I had placed an advance order for the paperback here on amazon and was thrilled when it took me by surprise by arriving on my doorstep one day last week. In one horrible night of insomnia this week, I read over half of the book and finished it. There could have been no more perfect book to get me through this frustrating night of no sleep...I laid in bed laughing out loud and shaking my head at Stephanie, Lula and Grandma Mazur's antics. The "sexy stuff" with Stephanie/Morelli/Ranger was the whipped cream and cherry on top of an already delectable sundae. Now I have to see if I can hold off until Seven Up is in paperback!! ARGH!!! :)
Rating: Summary: Hot Six is Smoking! Review: I enjoyed Hot Six the most of all of this series! All of the Stephaine Plum books are good. I found myself cracking up with laughter several times during this book! I was reading it on break at work and I forgot that I was not at home and would fall out laughting. My co-workers enjoyed my reading the book also, as they got a kick out of me outburst! I can't wait for number Seven to come out!!
Rating: Summary: LOL Review: I only bought this because I was in the grocery store, had nothing to read that night, and it was the only book I (1) hadn't read, (2) wasn't a romance, western, or sci-fi, and (3) it was cheap (the mass paperback edition). That night I figured in 15 pages I would know whether it was worth reading any more or I would be asleep. Neither happened. Instead, each page pulled me along and the funny parts were so funny I laughed almost uncontrollably. At one point (the pile in the McDonald's parking lot) I laughed so hard my husband came running to see if I was in the midst of some bizzarre fatal convulsion. It was like a giant hot fudge sundae -- it was so enjoyable I couldn't stop, and when I finished the last page at 1:30 AM I said to myself, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" But boy, it was fun while it lasted. Take a vacation and check out this and the rest by Evanovich. I know I will be.

Rating: Summary: HOT SIX IS SMOKIN'! Review: I READ MY FIRST STEPHANIE PLUM NOVEL TWO WEEKS AGO WHEN I WAS HOME SICK FROM WORK. I FINISHED IT IN 6 HOURS! IN THE PAST WEEK I'VE READ THE OTHER 5. HOT SIX WAS A GREAT BOOK. THE CHARACTERS REALLY COME ALIVE FOR YOU - THEY SEEM REAL COMPARED TO OTHER BOOKS WITH CHARACTERS YOU CAN'T RELATE TO. THE CHARACTERS ARE KOOKY ENOUGH THAT YOU JUST FALL IN LOVE WITH THEM - A GUILT TRIP GIVING MOTHER, A NUTTY GRANDMA, OUTSPOKEN FRIENDS, HOT MEN...NEED I SAY MORE. THIS IS A FAST READ AND YOU'LL LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT. YOU WON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE.
Rating: Summary: Lots Of Laughs Review: Janet Evanovich's books are so much fun to read, a strong plot line isn't really necessary, but this one actually has a pretty good one. Stephanie Plum is on the trail of a family dealing guns and maybe drugs. She is also trying to clear her friend and fellow bounty hunter, Ranger, from a suspicious situation. Two new characters, Mooner and The Dealer add to the fun. The sexual tension involving Stephanie's love interest, Morelli the cop, is alive and well. Evanovich delivers an excellent read with this book and surpasses expectations for another good tale.
Rating: Summary: A hilariously good time! Review: "You've got a pip of a life," Grandma said. "Never a dull moment. Fast cars, fast men, fast food. I wouldn't mind having a life like that." And grandma means it. She sets out (bless her heart) to have a life just LIKE that! Think of Hot Six as a mystery drenched in comic relief. Stephanie Plum is an unusual heroine with an unusual job description. She is a bounty hunter. She is also surrounded by a cast of unusual and very indiscreet characters, her "on-again-off-again" love interest police officer Joe Morelli, her 200+ pound side kick Lula, her "mentor-turned-murder-suspect" Ranger (who also contributes to her self-diagnosed "nymphomania"), a dog named Bob who has a ghastly eating disorder, and her less than cooperative grandmother who temporarily moves in on her (and tries to mimic Stephanie's sex life). This makes for one roaring good time, but lest we forget, there is still a mystery to be solved here! And a whopping good mystery it is...Stephanie is forced to help her mentor, the man who taught her everything she knows about "fugitive apprehension" try to clear his name as a murder suspect. She also has to shoo away the killers who are trying to track her down, and avoid blowing up another car. You'll have fun keeping track of all the antics and mayhem, as well as the seriousnness of the case she is trying to solve. With all the laughs in the first few pages, it's hard to believe that this could get any funnier, (just wait until grandma moves in...)but this book had me rolling right until the last page. The ending with Bella and Mrs Morelli nearly set me into a permanent laughing fit. I was impressed with how Evanovich moved the plot along as well as the comedic dialogue. Her characters are very colorful, the plot is solid and the pace is smooth. This was a major departure for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the diversion and can't wait to get my hands on Evanovich's next Stephanie Plum adventure! Highly recommended...even for you fellow "suspense-thriller" loyalists! Cris
Rating: Summary: More Evanovich Fun Review: In this installment of Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series the plot is so thin it is practically diaphanous. The story of Ranger's possible involvement in a murder and Stephanie's search for him is only an excuse to put Stephanie in more outrageous situations, with wacky characters and dialogue and has no real importance to the novel at all--to the point that the obvious conclusion available so early on is in fact the correct one. But who cares? If you want to read a female detective story for the plot, better get Sarah Paretsky instead. By now it's obvious that Evanovich is a comedy writer, not a mystery writer, and as such Hot Six is a fun addition to her series. The running jokes are back, and oddly enough are funnier than before--in the last book I thought I'd had it with the dead car gag, but Evanovich pulls out more laughs this time round with the same gag. And Grandma Mazur becomes an even better character, as we get to spend some quality time with her. This is a fun, quick read; not great literature, but just right after a hard day of brain surgery or quantum physics or whatever...
