Rating: Summary: Another "Hot" little number from Evanovich Review: This book was great. Really funny. I love Steph's Grandma moving in with her and the whole "thing" w/Ranger..."the man of mystery". If you have not read Evanovich get books 1 - 5, lock yourself in a room and start reading...you will not be able to put them down.
Rating: Summary: It's Getting To Be "Same Old Thing" Review: I read #s 1-5 last summer and enjoyed them a lot, rating them collectively as 4s, a fun, good time with lots of laughs. This summer, with book #6, all I can say is that it was enjoyable. I had some good laughs but I think I'm growing tired of the series. For one thing, the romance with Joe and/or Ranger just drags on and on and I want some conclusion to it with one or the other guy. Secondly, the characters who are still scoring with me are all secondary, such as Grandma and Lula. Thirdly, the resolution of "High Five"'s cliffhanger ending in #6's prologue was a real letdown for me. My expectations were a lot wilder and offbeat. It is difficult to gain excitement with a book when you start with a letdown feeling. This may just be me though as I don't do well with these books in mystery that have the same lead characters book after book in a seemingly endless series. I think Sherlock Holmes was the only character I lasted with through every single tale in the same degree of fascination from first tale to last tale. So, if you like these same lead characters being in book after book, your grade will probably be higher than mine and you should go for it.
Rating: Summary: A FUN ENTRY IN THE SERIES Review: New Jersey bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, is back in her sixth adventure.Stephanie has her hands full in this adventure...She will begin a romantic relationship (readers find out the identity of the mystery man from the end of "High Five"), she has to deal with a crazy bail jumper, she must protect Ranger, a fellow bondsman, wanted for questioning in a murder, and she has her ever spunky bounty hunter wannabe grandma, moving in with her. Janet Evanovich has created another fun read, filled with quirky characters and great dialogue...Fans of the series will not be disappointed. Nick Gonnella
Rating: Summary: Hot Six Review: Her funniest yet! I love reading Janet's books.
Rating: Summary: Too Hoooot! Review: I got a late start reading the series (last year) but read them all within a week's time. Ms. Evanovich just keeps getting better with each release. I didn't think she could top High Five but she did. I loved Hot Six and wrote to her at janet@evanovich.com and let her know. Don't ask me why but I want Stephanie and Ranger together, not Stephanie and Morelli (even though I like Morelli's character) but who knows whom she's going to end up with. I just wanted to mention there was one scene involving Stephanie and a FTA which made me laugh until I cried (but of course I can't say which scene). I read the passage to my daughter and it had the same effect on her. I read this book in a day's time and now I'm sitting here anticipating the next Evanovich release. If you haven't read this book you're definitely missing out on the excitement. Those of you who didn't like this book- - you gotta be kidding. Ms. Evanovich keep those books coming. I love them.
Rating: Summary: Not her best work Review: I was disappointed in this book and felt that Janet was just going through the motions to meet her deadline. There were scenes that served no purpose and some things were resolved too neatly to be believed. I still get a kick out of reading about Stephanie, Ranger, and Morelli, but this wasn't one of their best outings. I wish Janet would use Lulu and Joyce Barnhardt more. After all, why have such good friends and enemies if you aren't going to use them? While I was happy to see who had been standing at the door from the end of book five, I was not at all happy with how this one ended. Sort of takes some of the fun out of the series. This is still a good read, but not worth the price of a hardcover. I'm hoping that book seven will be on the same level as the first five.
Rating: Summary: The stories get better and better.... Review: In Hot Six, the next installment of S.Plum, the story is enjoyable and strong. Thank goodness who said "Drop the Dress" was resolved immediately. The two men in her life and stilling buzzing around her. It must be tough! Actually I thought there was too little "action" for our Miss Stephanie. Let's pump up the "action" volume for the next installment!
Rating: Summary: I love reading Janet Evanovich Review: I read this book in one night. Not only does the series continue to grow in action and humor, but the scenarios Plum constantly finds herself in just keep getting better and better. Anyone into strong heroines and great mysteries must read this book.
Rating: Summary: another wild ride Review: I don't think this one was quite as good as earlier books in this series, but it's still more entertaining thatn any other book you'll read this summer. Bob the dog is a hoot.
Rating: Summary: Play it again Review: I don't know how she does it, Evanovich has scored a ten with Hot Six. Once again Stephanie is in over her head with international gun dealers, small time and wanna be crooks and of course, Joe Morelli. You know she totals a car, has all kinds of almost biblical interactions with Joe and Ranger. Granny Mazur, Lula and the rival bounty hunter all play a role. I laughed so hard I cried and now wait with baited breath for the next rock and rollin ride in Seven What!
