Summary: Stick with the formula...
Review: Sue Grafton can best be described as a knockoff of Janet Evanovich. Eventhough the simalarity between the two is very apparent, we have to remember that Grafton first came up with the ideas. Grafton's main character, Kinsey Millhone is a breath of fresh air with her sassy, i-don't-need-anybody attitude. The story plot in "E is for Evidence" is quite a page turner. She makes you want to pick up "F" and those thereafter and tentively await her next creation.

Summary: "E" is for Entertainment
Review: Sue Grafton continues to entertain and keep us coming back for more of Kinsey
Millhone's adventures. With "E" is for Evidence, Grafton once again brings us in step
with Kinsey and this time she has a lot to lose--her reputation and her business. She is
the victim in an extortion plot and she must defend herself by becoming her own client.
The familiar characters that her readers know so well come to life again and we are
happily transported to California, deeply immersed in her puzzling case.

Kinsey is one of the first of the female private investigators and remains one of the best! Sue Grafton also is at the top of her form, keeping the reader engrossed and
wanting more! If you haven't read this letter of the alphabet yet, don't hesitate. There are others to come and they just keep getting better and better!

Summary: Good Writing, Good Plot, Good Detective, Good Characters
Review: Sue Grafton truly cannot be classified as a cliche mystery writer. Her writing is filled with wit and humor. Even at the most dramatic stages of the story, Kinsey Milhone (the first-person detective) will throw in a statement that will make you chuckle. In addition, I liked the fact that the plot revolved around the well-to-do Wood family and the family intrigue that seems to accompany much of "the aristocracy." Good for what it tries to accomplish; nevertheless, I feel that Grafton's alphabet series has declined slightly since her first three novels. If you are gaga about mysteries, this one is good. Unlike some writers' styles, Grafton's is Mystery with a small subplot of Rommance, not vice-versa.

Summary: A great read!
Review: The ending totally surprised me! A great book by Grafton

Summary: Her mysteries have me stumped until the very end!!!
Review: The mysteries Kinsey Millhone gets herself into are unbelievable. This series of books keeps me entertained until the end. The author does a good job of putting twists all throughout the book so you never know who dune it. Of the books I read, I like the detective stories of Kinsey!

Summary: Excellent!!!
Review: This book starts out slow since Kinsey is down in the dumps. Later, though, things get very interesting with bombs going off (one devistates her apt.) and people from the past showing up - including an ex-husband! You learn some more about Kinsey and her past in this book. Excellent!

Summary: "E" is for Excellent
Review: This book was first published in 1988, yet it is still in print, which cannot be said of many books that were published in 1998, let alone 1988. I am obviously a latecomer to this series, but I am enjoying each book I have read so far. If they keep getting better as they go along, I expect to be in for quite a treat by the time I get to "N" or perhaps "O" by the time I get that far. I don't read a lot of mysteries, but I find I can usually guess pretty well what is going to be the solution, but this one surprised me completely. I would recommend this series to anyone. It is not absolutely necessary to read them in order, but I would suggest you do that if possible. Kinsey Millhone is a very interesting character, one who is smart and tough, but also vulnerable and fallible. I look forward to running through the entire alphabet, but I do wonder what Grafton will do for "Q" or "X."

Summary: BEST SO FAR!!!!
Review: This is the 5th Kinsey Millhone book I have read and I think it is the best one. The others, to me, were good in the beginning and in the end but very slow in the middle. This one started a little slow but soon held my attention and was good the rest of the way. To start with Kinsey has $5,000.00 deposited in her checking account that she did not put there. No one know where it came from but it has her account number on the deposit ticket. She is then hired to investigate a fire in a warehouse for the Insurance Co. Kinsey knows the people who own the warehouse and even went to school with one of them. She starts to investigate and then part of her file turns up missing and Kinsey is accused of being on the take and turning in false information. As she investigates she finds someone who died two years previous, a bomb goes off and someone else is killed and then a body turns up in a car parked in front of her house. One of her ex-husbands also comes into the picture. She keeps asking questions and finally solves the case. Not before she is nearly killed twice. I hope Sue Grafton continues to improve. I am looking forward now to the next one in the series.

Summary: Windfall from an unknown source
Review: Usually people don't complain about receiving money from an anonymous source, but Investigator Kinsey Millhone knows that she needs to report the $5000 which has mysteriously appeared in her bank account. No one seems to know where the money has come from and soon it is all part of a problem that involves Kinsey as a suspect in an insurance fraud case. As she delves into the investigation, she uncovers a prominent family's secrets and continues to get into trouble herself. As usual, Kinsey's investigation causes physical danger to her, until she hunts down the perpetrator. This is another good read from Sue Grafton.
