Rating: Summary: The LATEST best book I have read this year!! Review: I started with "One for the Money", which I picked up in the bargain bin at my local bookstore, and therefore was in no hurry to read. A couple of weeks later, when I finally did pick it up, I didn't put it down for 6 hours...and I immediately got online with Amazon.com to see if Janet Evanovich had written anything else. Thank God she had. I ordered the second and third books in the series. It is now ten days (and another order from Amazon.com) later, I just finished "High Five" and threw it at the wall with a primal scream. Who was at the door!? Then I checked the publication date so I would have an idea of how long I have to wait to find out. A whole year? I may not survive! Please, Janet, be merciful. Get number 6 on the bookshelves SOON!
Rating: Summary: Ridiculous and Fun, but never insulting... Review: Stephanie Plum captures the whimsy, outrageousness and pure fun we all need in our lives. The characters (or caricatures!) are approached with humor -- and pretty believable at times. Mamalinde knows a bunch of really frightening folks, huh? Wish Stephanie wasn't so young and pretty and sexy though, makes Mamalinde feel so -- inferior.
Rating: Summary: Great, hilarious. Can it get any better! Review: Janet Evanovich has done it again. Stephanie Plum, the bounty hunter from hell is on her fifth misadventure. Uncle Fred, that no-good putz, has gone missing and the Plum family want her to find him. Stephanie, has more than enough trouble what with deciding who to sleep with(Morelli or Ranger), what to do with evidence of a dead body and coping with a mad dwarf, sorry, little person who won't leave her apartment. And to top that off, Rameriz, that sociopath from 'One for the Money' has found God and wants to introduce Stephanie to him, personally. I've never laughed so much before. It is not a good book to read on the bus. You attract a few weird looks. I'm hanging out for the next installment in the adventures of Stephanie Plum. Just who does she sleep with?
Rating: Summary: COULDN'T SUPPRESS THE LAUGHTER!!!!! Review: Waited anxiously for #5 and it was worth the wait. Only sad part is I'm done with #5 and now have to wait for #6. Please, please hurry!! Janet is on the right track, intriguing the reader to guess what path Stephanie may take next...Joe or Ranger. It would be fun to see Joe sweat a little. I also agree with a reader who suggested that Stephanie be "one-up" in solving the case before Joe/Ranger get there. Start to add some depth to her ability rather than being so ditzy all the time.
Rating: Summary: Great character development. Review: First time reader of Evanovich. Feel as if I have been introduced to a cast of characters I want to visit again, and again. I know she is not as described in either race or size, but see Rita Morena in the character of Lulu. Richard Dryfus as Bunchy.
Rating: Summary: Better than ice cream Review: Having read all of the Stephanie Plum books, as well as audiobooks, several times at least with intent of perusing them all further, it is apparent that I am a consummate, dedicated fan of the series. Each new installment delights the reader with new surprises. This time Grandma Mazur intends to dress as a Spice Girl for Halloween, Ranger becomes enamored with Steph, Lula attracts an IRS agent, Morelli finally contemplates permanance with our heroine, and to assure that we are over-the-edge-ecstatic, Stephanie lives up to her Bounty Hunter Bombshell monicur by managing to have several more of her luxury vehicles demolished.Growing up in an east coast very Catholic family, it is second nature for me to identify with Stephanie's plights, fashion sense and homey loyalties. Janet, I love all of these books and await number six. In the interim, I'm reading "Four to Score" for the third time!!!
Rating: Summary: Fun and fast paced! Review: Excellent book, fast read...great junk food for the mind. I just want to know one thing....when did Ms. Evanovich meet my grandmother to write about her like that? :)
Rating: Summary: Fantastic Read!!!!! Review: This is the first book that I read from Janet Evanovich. I hadto go out and get the others. I never laughed so hard in my life. Itis like Kinsey Milhorn has a close relative.
Rating: Summary: Enough already! Review: I genuinely like this series, but is Ms. Evanovich writing about romance or mystery? The ending of this fifth book was ridiculous. The series is quite good, the characters are delightful. There's no need to treat the reader as if the only reason they come back is to find out about the next saga in Stephanie's love life. What started out as a cute facet of the series by book number five has turned into the main focus. It's ruining (at least for me) the series. If we want tortured romance stories, there's plenty of other places to turn. Enough already. Let's have the focus on the plot in book six.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT BOOK...BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT!!!!!!! Review: It is completely unbelievable that the quality of these characters can keep improving. I have read every book in this series and I LOVE THEM!! My big question is: When are they going to make this into a television mini-series? Or do you all think that would ruin it for our imaginations? Feel free to e-mail me to discuss this concept. Janet I am impatiently waiting for # SIX.
