Rating: Summary: Stunning detail. Fascinating. Starts off with a bang! Review: If you're as sharp as a sack of wet mice, couldn't draw a straight line if you had a ruler, have no interest in things more complex than tinkertoys, only recently learned to tie your shoes or otherwise non-technically minded (as applies to some in this world), this book will probably make you puke. ON THE OTHER HAND, if you love the way Clancy fills in the details, this one's for you! Techno-freaks will love this one!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS AMERICAN CULTURAL MANURE AT ITS WORST! Review: Of all the awful books I have read, this one has got to be the worst. Mindless American patriotism (something that makes me want to puke) and a stunning inability to write leads the reader through this book, coupled with dreadfully long and totally uninteresting character descriptions of stereotypical personalities. Clancy's obession with technical names of various weaponry slow the book to a halt. The thought processes of various characters are so immature and idiotic that I was left wondering what kind of imbecile could write manure like this. Stay away from this book, and furthermore, stay away from everything this Tom Clancy writes. Only gullible Americans could possibly swallow literature like this, as the other reviews demonstrate.
Rating: Summary: definately the best clancy book yet Review: this is one cool book. clancy has got the right idea with this one. clear and present danger has a neat plot, plenty of action and interesting characters. if all authors could write like this id quit my job and read the rest of my life.
Rating: Summary: Great Writing Review: Another well done book done by Tom Clancy. A wonderful description of the corruption of government. An excellent book yet difficult to read at points.
Rating: Summary: Not Clancy's best, but still good Review: This is a good book, but focuses a little to much on details. The first several hundred pages are difficult to follow, but after that the book really picks up. The ending is tremendous and unpredictable. All in all, this book has a strong storyline, but gets muddled in all the extraneous detail.
Rating: Summary: Would make a good movie Review: Tom Clancy should stick with playing with his Tec-9 in the basement of his mansion, instead of pretending that he can write.

Rating: Summary: Fully Satisfied.. Review: I am on my second reading of this book, having read it when it first came out 10 years ago. All I can say is WOW. I am as riveted this time as I was before, and even more so now. The plots, details, etc. make for one of Clancy's finest. I read Eyes of the Hammer, and found myself unsatisfied with it's only one story line, and only 350 or so pages. I personally want my fiction to be involved, and Clancy fully satisfies.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book. Review: Many reviewers dismiss Tom Clancy as a poor writer who simply puts on paper techno-babble and machismo. That is not the case, and this book should convince anyone that Clancy is an able writer, who is able to build and sustain suspense over hundreds of pages.
Rating: Summary: Compelling, One of his best! Review: I loved clear and present danger although the movie sucked. I was captivated from the beginnig the plot does take a while to develop as in all clancy books but the beginning was still exciting. Go clancy!
