Rating: Summary: A book about Kiss, by a Kiss member -- about time!!! Review: This is a great accounting of Gene's early life before Kiss. Including some heartfelt memories of his Mother. These chapters alone make it worthwhile reading for everyone. The Kiss years forward contain information most of us die-hard fans already knew though. But it is nice to hear it from the Demon's own hand. The only disappointments are Gene's overall cockiness about being responsible for fads (like the sign of the devil is based on the way he held his pick -- c'mon.) My recommendation is to read it while the Kiss Box Set plays.
Rating: Summary: An Extended Interview Review: I learned a bit more about Gene Simmons from reading this book, but not a lot more about KISS. That is the whole point of this biography. If you are a KISS fan and are picking this up to learn more, there is little to no new information here. Like most interviews, the information on KISS has been covered previously in so many different places that you will not be surprised. If you have watched recent interviews with Simmons, you will now that he is quite the salesman. You many even feel that this is a new phenomenon since the band stopped touring. After reading about his background, you will learn that he has always been a salesman, and has always striven to make money at what he loves to do. You have to respect that. I would recommend this book to Gene Simmons and KISS fans.
Rating: Summary: This aint no autobiography... this is nothingness. Review: So Mr. Chaim Witz has put pen to paper and gave us his life story. I don't believe one ounce of this rubbish. The book has been written by a ghost writer, and a not very good one at that. This isn't the story of Gene Simmons' life, it is a story about a member of the band KISS, and the story is all too familiar and boring. Gene come on and give us your real story. I want to read about the intellectual Gene Simmons, not the media hype that is this rubbish. This is nothingness.
Rating: Summary: chaim...is the man with the foot long tongue Review: I have always been a kiss fan since 1977, when i was 7 years old..more so I was always intrigued by Gene Simmons. The demon, a great bass player, business man, all around mama's boy. I gotta say there is alot of Humour in this book. I haven't laughed so much about someones life untill i read this book. His Mom is the best fightin' Jewish woman. Great stuff, if only ace and peter would find the time or brain cells to write their life stories...
Rating: Summary: ten words on Gene Simmons Review: The ten word version of my original 1,000 word rant: He does not seem nearly as intelligent as I imagined.

Rating: Summary: THE GENE THE WHOLE GENE AND NOTHING BUT THE GENE Review: It's that simple. This tell all book chronicles the life and times of the famous KISS rocker known as Gene Simmons. From his birth, to when the book was completed, you'll learn just about everything there is to know about Gene Simmons (at least what he is willing to tell you). What I really love is the family pics of Gene in his younger years. Who'd think the charming little boy in those photos would grow up to be a Fire Breathing Demon In THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND OF ALL TIME? Gene's story is right here. It's entertaining, and I found it to be inspiring as well. In other words, This book kicks [behind]!!!

Rating: Summary: Who is Behind the Makeup? Review: I have read on many online message boards that Gene wrote the book himself, but on some other boards it says that he "enlisted the help" of Ben Greenman, who is a writer and editor at the New Yorker. What does this mean exactly? Did Gene write the book and did Ben Greenman edit it? Or did Ben Greenman actually write it? I don't think this makes the book any less cool -- Gene is the best rock star ever, hands down -- but I am curious.
