Rating: Summary: Trust me......this one is DIFFERENT! Review: I loved this book for it's realness and John's honesty...... It was such a breath of fresh air after all the other books I've read on this subject........John seems to want us to know he's a real human being just like anyone.......he has a wonderful gift but he admitts to many mistakes and faults.....just like the rest of us. He says a lot of stuff others would omit......it's sorta like he's forgetting to say "the proper thing" as if he's just too honest to tell anything false....even little white lies....and this is what makes Crossing over such a unique reading experience and a truly delightful one.....I promise you....you won't be bored!!!!!
Rating: Summary: John Edward Uncommon and Special Gift Review: I found John Edward on the SCIFI cable channel because I'm a science fiction aficionado. I've read the best scifi authors books more than once and sometimes two or three times. OK, I am a Star Trek "junkie" too. OK, I also read books, many books and many authors. That said John Edward on "Crossing Over" was way too good to be true. I have lost a grandmother that raised me, a mother that became my friend and regreted not being my mother, the brother that was my best friend, mentor, cheerleader and always challenger. He died of ALS, sometimes called Lou Gehrigs desease way too young. I was his DNR (Do Not Resucitate) "power of attorney." In those days (1981) a DNR had to be supported by a living person. They called and I said no because I had promised. Joe crossed over and left behind three children. I watch John Edward on TV helping, supporting, educating and comforting those that have lost loved ones and I am comforted and validated. "Crossing Over" the book by John Edward defines John's purpose in life, his trepidations of TV, and the televison communitiy that embraced him and his committment to his purpose. It's a very good read. The book "Crossing Over" is the real, true, purposeful, committed and gifted John Edward. All religions of the world have promised a spirtual life after life. All John Edward does is confirm those beliefs. Read the book, watch John on TV, make your own decision.
Rating: Summary: Better and Better!!! Review: "Crossing Over" is a wonderful, well-written, insightful and at times humourous look at an ordinary man with an extraordinary ability. John gives the reader a look at the blessings and complications of sharing his ability with the world. Everything from his childhood to his unwanted fame. His story is truly inspirational and I admire his focus on his work. I was once a skeptic but have opened my heart and mind to John's work and it has changed my life. This has been my favorite of John's books and I look forward to his next.(no pressure John..hahaha) This wonderful book is for the believer or non-believer and I highly recommend it for anyone even remotely interested in the subject or the man behind the ability. Thanks again for all you do John and God Bless.
Rating: Summary: Oy Review: Let's be real, folks. When's the last time someone who "crossed over" told Edward, "This place sucks. I hate it here. I sure wish I was alive." Or, "Who did you say is trying to reach me? I always hated her guts, and I especially hate them now." Why are ALL these people so happy and forgiving? If it's that uniformly warm and fuzzy in the afterlife, why doesn't Edward just say so in a three-minute prime-time special and then never appear on TV again? Note to Gary Candy (below): If you can't reach Edward via e-mail, you might try waiting until after you die.
Rating: Summary: Experience Crossing Over! Review: Wonderful! I received my copy of John's book on Tuesday and was finished reading Wednesday. A quick read that brings the reader behind the scenes of John Edward, his TV show, the people he works with, the people he reads, the people he communicates with who have "Crossed Over." Anyone who has followed John's rise to fame for his extraordinary abilities will find this comprehensive book rewarding and stirring. For those who are non-believers or are new to John and his amazing works, stand back and prepare to be thrust into a new dimension of reality. A reality that anyone with an open mind can't help but find totally believable and mind blowing. John Edward showed up just as we all were in need of some verification that there is a home for all of us with our deceased family and friends when we "Cross Over" to the other side. Thank You John. Rating: Summary: LONGHORN Review: I HAVE NEVER BEFORE BEEN A JOHN EDWARD FAN AND SINCE READING THIS BOOK HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT HIM THROUGH EMAIL (NO LUCK) TO CONGRADULATE HIM ON A SPLENDID WORK. THE THING THAT CAPTURED MY ATTENTION IS THIS BOOK WAS HIS HUMILITY AND HUMOR--THOUGH THIS IS NOT A HUMOROUS TOPIC. HE MAKES MENTION OF OTHER MEDIUMS THAT HE RESPECTS SUCH AS GEORGE ANDERSON AND JAMES VAN PRAAGH. HE ALSO MENTIONS SILVIA BROWNE WHICH GOES AGAINST MY GRAIN. THIS WORK TO ME PUTS HIM IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS ANDERSON AND VAN PRAAGH. HIS 20-60-20 ANALOGY SEEMS RIGHT ON AND ANALOGIES ABOUT OUR MEDIA MOGILS IS EYE-OPENING. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ANYONE WHO BELIEVES IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE SPIRIT WORLD.
Rating: Summary: Almost as good as being there Review: Reading this book, is like having John in the room with you and speaking to you personally. If you enjoy watching John you will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: Break on through... Review: As John states several times in his latest, "You either believe, or you don't". What I enjoyed most about this book, is that John goes more in depth and to some extent, becomes even more personal to his readers than in "One Last Time". It's as if he's becoming more and more 'comfortable in his skin' or rather, in my opinion, accepting his life mission. This book is less about every 'story behind the story' and more about an interesting and intriguing journey of overcoming social and spiritual bias. John, I admire and appreciate your drive and determination to 'stay the course' and open our senses to a larger reality. My mother crossed over two years ago from cancer. The knowledge and perception that I have learned from watching and reading John's messages has made my life a better place to be.
Rating: Summary: crossing over Review: I have been reading this book over the past 2 weeks I find it a great comfort to me I lost someone very close to me this year now I understand the thing I see and smell at tme that remind me of him I am planning to read your other books as well. You keep doing the work that GOD has sent you to do letting people know that there love ones are watching over them.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: Very happy with this book. I was wondering what the story behind John Edward was. What if he got it wrong? What if someone was murrdered? Does John ever get it wrong but then he was really right? This and a lot more questions about the show and John's talent were covered in this book. I could not put it down! Most books I really like are read in two days, this one only lasted one!
