Summary: "Dance Upon The Air" Is Pure Magic!
Review: Three Sisters is a small, rocky island off the coast of Massachusetts. Legend has it that the island was once a part of the mainland. Back in the late 1600s, during the Salem witch trials, three sisters, good witches all, known as Fire, Earth and Air, conjured the island and made it a haven against persecution. Unfortunately, the sisters did not fare as well as their island. Air fell in love with a man who proved to be so abusive that he finally killed her in a fit of rage. The second sister, Earth, vowed revenge and when she destroyed her sister's killer, she broke her sacred promise to do no harm. The last sister, Fire, lost her love and in despair she took her own life. Before she died she cast a spell to keep the island safe for 300 years. At that time she prophesied a reunion of three sisters, descendants of the original three, who would join together to redeem their ancestors and save their home from destruction.

Fast forward 300 years to Three Sisters Island. A frightened young woman, Nell Channing, comes to the island fleeing her past. She has been drawn here through compelling dreams. Concealing her identity, with few possessions and no identification, she finds a job as a gourmet cook at a local bookstore and cafe. The cafe's owner and Nell's new boss, Mia Devlin, warmly welcomes her as if she is a long lost friend. She rents Nell a lovely cottage and helps her settle in. For the first time in many years Nell begins to believe she has found a home and a place to make her future. The town sheriff, tall, dark and handsome, (of course), Zack Todd begins to woo her and Nell is drawn to him in spite of her knowledge that she can never become involved.

Then the past finally catches up to Nell. The evil she has been trying to escape comes to the island, endangering her and threatening the lives of those she has come to love. The curse of Three Sisters and the legend behind it are disclosed. Nell discovers that she is one of the three who can break the centuries-old spell and save her home and her life - with the help of two other strong, gifted women whom she has grown to care for as sisters.

One of the other reviews called this novel a combination of "The Witches Of Eastwick" and "Sleeping With The Enemy" and I think that is an apt description. The suspense and sheer terror of being pursued by an enraged, abusive spouse is clearly portrayed here, embellished a bit with the addition of magic and the supernatural. And Nora Roberts depicts the love, camaraderie, humor and complexity of the relationship between the sister witches in wonderful detail. It is easy to love Ms. Roberts' characters as she develops them with great care. The sisters' magic is delightful, as is the romance. The story is appropriately chilling at times and filled with suspense. "Dance Upon The Air" is the first part of a trilogy. I have read all three books and this is my favorite. It is an unputdownable read, perfect for curling up on a cold winter's night.

Summary: My first and favorite Nora!
Review: If you're compelled to read any of the Sisters (Heaven and Earth, Face the Fire), start here. Nell's story is really the foundation, and therefore essential to preface the other two. But that reason aside, read this book simply because it is Nora's very best (in my opinion). It was the first thing I've ever read from her, and I've been in love since. Zack is my all-time favorite male lead, with enough sweetness, humor and wit to balance his strength and alpha-tendencies. All of the characters in the book are 3-dimensional, and you can't help but be absorbed into the quaint island. Don't miss this book! And if you're anything like me, buy all three at once because you'll go through them so fast, you won't want to waste precious reading time going back to the bookstore!

Summary: loved it
Review: This is my second favorite Nora Roberts' trilogy, right behind the Dreams trilogy. The characters are charming and real, making it easy for readers to relate to them. Nora Roberts is amazing with detail, and when you read the book, it's like you can see everything that's going on through the character's eyes. Fabulous read..full of magic and love.

Summary: Magically pleasing
Review: As a first installation in the Three Sister's triology, Dance Upon Air is a wonderful story. While the use of the abused wife escaping the obssessive husband is frequently used by authors in order to gain emotional buy-in from the readers, Nora Robert's introduction of magic gives the story a needed burst of energy. As always, Ms. Robert's excels in transporting you to whatever location her stories takes place. Unfortunately, many of the themes surrounding Nell's story remind you of movies/books such as Sleeping with the Enemy and Practical Magic. And while Nell successfully rebuilds her life on Three Sister's Island, I never quite believe she develops a strong backbone. Despite this, you will still fall in love with the story and anxiously rush off to buy the next two.

Having read all three stories in the triology, I still hold this one as my favorite. There is just something about this conjured island, it's sanctuary and characters that tugs at your heart. It almost makes you wish magic and the Three Sister's Island truly existed.

Summary: Excellent Recommendation
Review: I never read Nora Roberts before, but now I am addicted. After the first few pages, I became Nell, and fell in love with Zack. What can I say about this series? Unbelievable. Stunning. There are no words. For those who new nothing about witches (such as myself), this will enlighten you. A friend let me borrow hers, and now I have to get it myself. If you find yourself living the lives of characters, this is for you. You will get an unexplainable rush between the pages, and will you yearn for more....

Summary: I very nice read
Review: I enjoyed this book immensely. It was easy to read and had enough suspense and colour to keep me going until the end. Be warned though it is a very simple story written with simple style. It is a great book to curl up with on a winters day and be entertained without getting the grey matter working too hard. Give it a go - you will find it worth your while.

Summary: Swept Away
Review: I bought the book for my mother. She told me how much she loved the book. I bought her the rest of the trilogy soon after that. She told me that it was a quick read. I began to think that I was missing something and used the look inside the book feature. At the end, of those few pages, I was saying where is the rest of this and I need more. I bought the books for myself and I have thoroughly enjoyed the trilogy. I was entranced the first chapter. I wanted to see Nell get away from the horrible Evan. I loved the romance and the hot and steamy moments that were so perfectly written. It was interesting to see some supernatural powers involved in the plot. I tried to read it in one night but my dear husband told me that the turning of the pages were driving him crazy so, I had to go to bed. I could not wait until I could crawl into bed and read it again. I am planning to read the whole trilogy again. I felt like I was living on Three Sisters Island. It was truly romantic.

Summary: The Beginning of another great trilogy!!
Review: Nora Roberts has done it again! Nell is running from her husband, and if he finds out she didn't really die, she's sure he'll finish the job. In her zigging and zagging a crossed the country, Nell comes to Three Sisters Island. It is here on the otherside of the country, that she will finally find what she has been looking for, home and family. She will learn on this little stretch of land that blood is thicker than water, the power of love, and that sometimes the magic was the last place you ever thought to look, inside yourself.

It is here on Three Sister's Island that Nell must stop running, for if she doesn't more than she could ever imagine will be lost forever. For something more evil than an abusive husband is stalking this quiet little island and the sister's three that protect it. It has waited 300 years for the protections placed upon this little island to fade and now the fate of the island, the sisters three, and all those that live upon the island are in the hands of a battered woman who is only just beginning to remember how to live again.
