Summary: This novel lacks an interesting plot.
Review: As I read through a hundred pages of the story, the novel seem to loose more of its interest. The story is about a big ex-FIB agent taking what seem to be a forever to solve a little case. I'm surprise of the overrated rating the novel received.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good read, but not "The Poet"
Review: I loved the first 3/4ths of this book. Piecing together the clues was great and the process of tracking the killer left me riveted. Then all of a sudden the book ended. The last part seemed like an entirely different book. Getting the killer seemed much too easy, after all the effort of finding who it was. Otherwise the premise was excellent and I would still recommend it. However, if you have not read Connelly before, this would not be the best first start.

Summary: Great book
Review: At this point this is one of my favorite books. This is my first Connelly read, and I am completely looking forward to reading his others. Connelly's choice of the main character is different.Usually the mian character is a strong, perfect, healthy person. However, in this novel Terry, is just recovering from a heart transplant. Connelly is an amazing writer with at clever and realizstic way of writing. Blood Work has an unusual plot with realistic characters. It is a novel that I really couldn't put down. I truly enjoyed this novel and recommend this novel to everyone!

Summary: THIS IS NOT THE MICHAEL CONNOLLY WE KNOW
Review: What a disappointment following on from The Poet and Trunk Music. This has to be Connolly's least effective novel yet. It lacks the atmosphere and suspense of previous novels and the conclusion seems fabricated and rushed, giving an overall impression of an overrated read from a more capable author.

Summary: interesting premise fueled by great characters
Review: I have read all of Connely's books except Angel Flight. I enjoyed the character development and interaction. The premise of why Mccaleb accepts the case is intriguing. I was a little disappointed in the ending-loved everything leading up to it but felt the ending was weak

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Realistic
Review: It was a novel paced to perfection, characters were realistic and so where the circumstances. I liked this book so much, I went back and read all of his other books.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellant Read! Lots of twists and unexpected turns
Review: First time reader of Connelly. Look forward to checking out any others that he has done. The pace of the book was quick. The characters were realistic and easy to relate to.

Summary: Sparkle and fade!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I'm quite surprised at the reviews listed here. I know I didn't read the book only listened to the abridged tape, but if the book is anything like the tape then it gets one star as well. It started off very interesting: a heart transplant patient who is approched to investiate the murder of the donor of his heart. From there it went downhill. Once you find out who the murderer is and the murderer's motive, I think you'll be disappointed.

Summary: What a good Work!
Review: I'm an italian journalist. I had the "preview" copy of "Debito di Sangue" (blood Work) from the director of Feltrinelli Library of Ferrara. He knows I'm an expert of hard boiled and serial killers novel, asked me to make a test. Great! It's not only an involvin' plot, but there are good characters and a strong atmosphere. Very good, it reminds me something of James Ellroy at his best! Unfortunately here in Italy there only one other Connely's book translated, "The Black Echo". I'll push Blood Work the harder I can, to reach the others...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Twists and Truns on every page. A real "heart stopper"!
Review: To date, this is one of my favorite M. Connelly books. Connelly's ability to grip your attention on page one comes through on this one! This heart stopping, page turning police thriller has all the qualities of a good detective mystery. I couldn't put the book down! A definite read for someone who likes mysteries and needs to get into the book from the beginning.

I've referred this book to friends and haven't had a negative review from any of them yet!
