Rating: Summary: Clark hasn't given up yet Review: Though it may not compare to some of her earlier works ("A cry in the night", "The cradle will fall"- need I say more?) Mary Higgins Clark has once again succeeded in creating a suspenseful all-too-familiar tale of a troubled woman looking for answers, but this time the story may go a little differently than expected. It's not the first time Clark has gone supernatural on us. With one of those surprise endings she's famous for, Clark ties up the conclusion with some fancy penmanship you won't want to miss. So make sure you don't forget to put "Before I say goodbye" on your book list- you won't be disappointed!
Rating: Summary: A Page Turner! Review: This is one of Clark's better novels--intriguing plot, great characters, and lots of twists. Beware--it's an addictive page turner; I was reading it on the bus and forgot to get off at my stop!
Rating: Summary: Made for TV Movie.... Review: I don't get to read too many books d/t kids, work, etc., so when I recently went on a child-less vacation I searched the racks for a really good book to read. I had much pre-book stress in making sure I made a good selection. Well, although the story was interesting, it was far from an entrenching novel I desired. My best description of the story is that it smacks of a made-for-TV type story. It goes on, but never really achieves a heightened climax. Very "G" rated.
Rating: Summary: Not a bad book Review: I've read about 8 of Mary Higgins Clark's books. This was a good book but not her best work.
Rating: Summary: Next time be more cautious. Review: I thought this book was a very good book. It makes you think a lot about the loved ones around you. It shows you a good reason why you never leave somewhere mad. That may be the last time you ever see that person......or maybe not. It makes you worry when you see or feel your loved ones feeling not there selves. I chose this book just because it was sent to me in the mail. I looked at the cover and thought it would be a boring book. Then i read the summaries and thought it sounded interesting. So then i read it. Each time i was reading it i never felt like putting it down. The book got me so involved i was constantly trying to read it. I like the way the book took a turn around at the end but being me and watching a lot of movies it was almost expected. It was reality in this book because things that that probably happens a lot often then you would think. I've only finished a few books in my life and this was one of them. I started out reading this book because it was sent to me then we had to read a book for english class. Well even it we would have stopped that assignment i would have finished this book. This book is a very good book and i would recomend it to anyone who likes action, suspence, and a well written novel.
Rating: Summary: One of the best books EVER! Review: This book was very exciting. The beginning was a bit hard to follow because the author threw many different chararters out at the same time. The plot was suspensful, with the mystery un-raveling after many clues, even the ones that did not seem important. The ending was surprising and quite un-predictable! Excellent Job, Ms. Clark!
Rating: Summary: The first Mary Higgins Clark book I have ever read. Review: Before I say Goodbye was the first Mary Higgins Clark book I have ever read. I think that she does have her spot when Mary Higgins Clark is known for writing mysterys. This book reads rather fast especially at the end. It is very easy to read and I consider it a great book. I do not really like the beginning though because all they do is talk about congress, which is really hard to want to read alot of chapters of. I like the part when Nell goes to her Great- Aunt and learns about the medium that Adam has and when Nell finds about how Adam really dies. I would consider this book for the highschool level mainly because it is sort of hard to understand at some points and other points it reads fast. I think that this is the best book that I have gotten to read all this year. I will definatley consider reading more books by Mary Higgins Clark in the future. I really like the plots of her storys because they keep you wanting to read more and more everytime, and it gets to the point where you are at the end and you do not even know it. If they were to ever turn this book into a movie, I think it would be awesome considering I really like this book therefore I think all of you out there should consider reading this and I myself give it 4 stars on the rating system!
Rating: Summary: Bombs Review: This book was just terrible. Plot didn't amount to much. Extremely predictable. Shallow characters. Phoney introspection. Psychic focus a major bore. She has done far, far better.
Rating: Summary: my review Review: Even though I started liking this book and had gotten into the plot, I found in incredible inconsistency in the story: in page 81 it is mentioned that "Lisa" has already spoken to the widow on the phone to air her worries, then in page 183 it mentions that "Lisa" want to talk to the widow but doesn't know how to contact her, so she goes through her grandfather to find her phone number....???? Otherwise, I did enjoy the book and the plot and really could never have guessed the ending! The characters are likable enough and you do get a positive feeling of New York. Besides the big inconsistency, the book is worth reading.
Rating: Summary: A good book, although not her best Review: I did like this book, however I felt difficulty "getting into" the book for the first 70 pages or so. She introduces so many characters at first (this is her signature style)and I kept getting confused who was who. The book did pick up and unlike some of her other books, I could not guess "who did it". If you want to read Mary-Higgins Clark's all-time best, read "A Cry In The Night". That has to be one of my all time favorite books of all time!
