Review: Frank McCourt has written an exceptionally brilliant book of his childhood. I had to put the book down several times, because of tears and anguish I felt for him and his family. His brilliant way of writing captures the innocence and humor of his childhood. I was blessed reading about his life. Thank you Frank McCourt for sharing your world with us.

Review: Angela's Ashes is a fantastic read. I couldn't put it down. It rocks you with humour and cripples you with pathos. I laughed and I cried at this amazing , tragic portrayal of an incredibly poor Irish childhood. On finishing the work, I felt I could immediately read it again. Angela's Ashes penetrates to the very core of human emotion.

Summary: Author jumped from adventure
Review: This book tells the tale of many poor Catholic children in Ireland. I, personally do not understand why this book got such great reviews from critics. I thought that it was just an average book and I thought that Frank McCourt did not spend enough time telling us of of his adventures in good detail. I also didn't like the way he ended the book. I personally felt like I was left hanging at the end of the book.

Review: It's hard to imagine a life as difficult as one lived by Frank McCourt. The religeous commitment, the poverty, the drunkeness, and above all the squalor. I can't remember reading anything historic that recounts what life was really like 50-60 years ago, much less living it.

Summary: Laughing through tears.
Review: My 16 year old daughter and I are both reading this wonderful book and often fight over whose turn it is to read. I just finished it and loved every minute of it. I am so glad by daughter is also reading it!! I look at her and think of Angela and what suffering she went through and am just glad that I never knew the horrible ordeals Angela did. And as a mother I can only hope my children will turn out as well as Angela's children did.

Review: Angela's Ashes was one of the most riveting books I have read. It touches from deep within your heart, to compelling your will and desire to live. You follow the struggles of a family that refuses to be taken as another number to the death poll of Ireland. They refuse to be sucked into the chasm that fights for their very being. Frank McCourt has preformed quite a feet. He has touched my heart, and this book will live on in my memory forever. You laugh as he gets "the exitement" on the green couch and hurt for him as he is on his knees in front of St. Francis for even getting "the exitement." This book is for certain, deserving of the Pulitzer it was awarded. Julie, 16, California

Review: I particularly enjoyed the comfortable, easy-to-relate-to humor of Little Frankie and his perceptions of his environment and adult situations such as alcoholism, broken homes, poverty and religion.

Review: I've never known that someone can actually remember in great detail what ordeal they have gone through when they were young but this book has caused me to think otherwise. This is one of the best books I've read and I must say that it's simply magical. It's one of those books that can be read over and over again and you'll just never have enough of it. It's this kind of book that makes you feel that you have spent quality time reading and owning it is truly a great thing. I was looking high and low for this book when one day I saw it at a bookstore. I picked it up and without hesitation paid for it. I have yet to regret! Truly remarkable.

Review: I was looking for an enjoyable book because, at the time, I did not read one since Catch-22, about 4 months ago. I stumbled upon this book as I was searching Amazon.com and I not only saw a high rating, but over 500 reviews!! I was a little disturbed that it was still in hardback, but I said "what the hell" and I bought it. To those of you who are debating whether or not to buy this memoir, fear not. I can't type any words to describe how perfect Mr. McCourt tells his story. It's one of my favorite books and I can honestly say that I am PROUD to have it in hardback. You can feel Mr. McCourt's heart and soul in this book. It sparkles on my shelf...
